Good news about Miranda and BBC One. Though its always a shame to strip BBC Two of a show it built, the main channel really needs it at the moment and I think it could benefit the show quite extensively too.

The only alternative for Christmas Day would be in the early evening, like The One Ronnie was this year. Though I wonder if Christmas Eve might not work too. They usually plump for pre-watershed comedy there and it could have a nice cushy slot after EE.
Also pleased to see this full series order for Upstairs Downstairs. Aside from any comparisons, it's figures were frankly brilliant at Christmas - it would have been madness of the highest order not to commission more.

As for last nights TV. An excellent night for BBC2. Madagascar did brilliantly in the 8pm slot - only a million behind what Human Planet has been getting in its Thursday slot on One. And its looking like another successful 'landmark' history series. A History of Ancient Britain very reminiscent of how The Normans did last summer.
Not a whole lot else to say - BBC One was OK until 9pm, but very poor numbers for the documentary. ITV1 naturally well with the football, but Harry Hill (repeat or not) is, I think, badly out of place on weekdays.
Also, good looking numbers for NCIS. I don't follow Channel 5's numbers too closely, but would I be right in saying NCIS seems to be overtaking CSI as its biggest import?
