Inevitably it would lose viewers if it transferred over though, so you have to factor that in.
Not that I would be against the idea of Six Nations on ITV, I happen to think their rugby union coverage is quite good and the Aviva premiership highlights programme on Sunday evenings is a highlight of my viewing week. And with the BBC having to make some cutbacks, the Six Nations could well be vulnerable when the rights come up for renewal.
I think the BBC's coverage is getting a bit stale actually. Same old commentators and pundits, very little if any innovation. I don't think it's one of those sports the BBC particularly excels at covering. They should take a leaf out of ESPN's book, their coverage is always a joy to watch.
