Aren't they considering a second series, but surely it would be better in the summer where 3.5 million viewers is classed as good? However, to be fair, it's had very stiff competition from Silent Witness.

I think they should recommission it. It's not suited to Mondays in my view but the ratings have been pretty good nonetheless. Unspectacular maybe but stable and it has shown some promise.

I can't see ITV being too unhappy with how things have played out at 9pm so far this year. The Biggest Loser hasn't exactly been a massive hit but it has done OK and Marchlands doesn't seem to have suffered from being on Thursdays rather than Mondays (in fact, it most likely benefitted by avoiding Silent Witness).

The only thing which I'd imagine has been disappointing is Comedy Rocks on Fridays. Taggart tanked on Tuesdays but I think they saw that one coming!

The Biggest Loser has done okay considering it's aired against Silent Witness and I imagine Shine wants to make the brand popular in the UK as it has been in the US and Australia plus with Product Placement coming in, it could become a decent earner for ITV1 although some of the PP on BL in America is pretty terrible!

Yeah, despite criticism from people on here (including me) when the schedules were announced they've done alright so far this year. Comedy Rocks was bad but Benidorm certainly corrected Fridays so Tuesdays remain the only major problem.

This week's documentary, Leah's Dream, looks worthy and moving but frankly I'll be surprised if it tops 2m, and I doubt Caroline Quentin's travel show will do particularly well, so it seems they won't be improving a great deal soon. Other than that though, I don't see why the new set of 9pm shows can't do well. Law and Order should be solid on Mondays and Benidorm is doing great on Fridays. Monroe is more of a mystery, but it looks good and all feedback so far has been positive so hopefully it should keep up the strong performance on Thursdays that ITV have enjoyed this year.

Stunning ratings for the rugby. A 9.6m peak is sensational, particularly for a teatime game which was over and done with by 6.45pm.

I shudder to think what it might have got had it been a 7.45pm kick off!

As for Friday, Danny Cohen should hang his head in shame. What exactly is he thinking? Why does he want to give a clapped-out show like Benidorm, already destined for the knackers yard, such an easy ride?

We hear a lot from the ITVistas on here about "BBC1 default viewing", but if that 7m for Benidorm against an umpteenth New Tricks reshowing isn't a textbook example of default viewing, I don't know what is.

Well done to Danny and the BSI for delivering a ratings hit for ITV1!

I don't think viewers are so tribal now as nearly everyone has at least 16 channels. Big Fat Gypsy Weddings has been a massive hit for a " minority" channel and Top Gear often tops its slot. BBC One and ITV1 are still our two most popular channels but their audience share is way down on what it was in the nineties and in homes with Sky their audience share is relatively low. I suppose many of the hardcore ITV and BBC viewers will have died out by now, or are elderly.

New Tricks is simply on too much. For example, Friday's episode was repeated as recently as a year ago. However well liked the show may be I don't think it's popular enough to warrant three 9pm airings of the same episode within 19 months! And sure enough, the ratings went from excellent on first run, to good on second run, to poor on third run. If they stuck to repeating each episode just the once, they would get better results.

What happened?

After battling with the Academy, ABC will be allowed to air 2 promos of its Charlie Sheen interview which will be broadcast across Good Morning America (Monday & Tuesday) and in full on a 20/20 primetime special at 10pm Tuesday. Trailers depict Sheen looking visibly worse than usual and sounding a touch crazy (he claims the only drug he's on is "Charlie Sheen"). As well as continuing is verbal assault on Chuck Lorre, it looks like his porn star housemates will appear as well.

ABC might be a little pi*sed now, though. NBC's Today Show have also booked an interview with Charlie Sheen for this morning (Monday morning). Ryan Seacrest has been plugging it a few times on E's Red Carpet Coverage (first signs of the NBCU/Comcast merger!). In this interview, he demands a personal apology from Chuck Lorre.

I think dragging it out across 2 shows over 2 days before the primetime special will lower ratings especially as he has probably said it all before. But it's bound to do better than ABC's usual 10pm Tuesday efforts.

Maybe CBS should do an interview with Chuck Lorre to even the playing field TBH these interviews may be good for CBS and Warner Bros to examine what sort of state Sheen is in so they can justify shutting down production.

She just didn't really seem to know what was going on and when Jason asked her a question she didn't know what to say. It didn't really feel right an ex contestant presenting it and the whole thing felt a bit uncomfortable.

Schofield would have been much better doing it on his own I reckon.

There are lots of adjectives I could use to describe Charlie Sheen, unfortunately none of them are suitable for a family thread like this!

I'm sure the specials will rate well but it's unfortunate for CBS that the whole sorry saga looks set to cost them their highest rated sitcom.

I never found Two and a Half Men that funny myself. But The Big Bang Theory, another show penned by Lorre, I adore.

I like Two and a Half Men but I think Sheen isn't coming out of this particuraly well, he's being paid $1.2m an episode but yet he insults the creator of the show. Without Chuck Lorre, Sheen wouldn't have the money to spend on his various vices!

Sounds like she was chucked in at the deep end a bit as a last minute replacement and her lack of experience when it comes to hosting a big live entertainment show like this showed. Holly makes it look easy but she's been in that role for a long time now and has it down pat.

Schofe flying solo could have worked. I guess the earlier tabloid reports that suggested Bleakley was the stand-by presenter were false. Either that, or notice was too short for them to arrange Daybreak cover this morning.

ESPN will now be showing the Arsenal vs Leyton Orient FA Cup replay on Wednesday night.
(Clashes with Manchester City vs Aston Villa on ITV1 on the same night).

IMO CBS should axe 2 and a half men, what kind of message will it send out, if they take him back?

Didn't strike me as any more shoddy, downmarket or tacky than normal, I have to say. I thought Colleen Nolan was a natural fit for the show.

But I'm surprised they didn't ask Bruce, Tess or Claudia to step in, seeing as they nick everything off Strictly anyway...

They even had one couple dancing to the Alesha Dixon track SCD used on the trailers last year.
