BARB says Millionaire got 111,000 on Friday 31st December 2010. So it's Challenge's highest rated in show in a month and a bit.
It won't even be that. Don't forget it joined Freeview on 1 Feb and there is no official data for that period yet.

TNA Impact might just scrape a top 10 place when the officials come out, but I'd guess other shows (like Millionaire) will be more popular.

Silent Witness has already had a go at Gypsy Weddings, they aired against each other for 3 weeks. Gypsy Weddings even beat Silent Witness in the 3rd week. Unless you mean Doc Martin & Silent Witness on at the same time?
Yes, that's what I meant - two big shows on at the same time.

Not sure what I make of Miranda moving to BBC1 - I'm not sure whether it'll benefit from the move; it's very quirky. Will BBC1 use it as Coronation Street opposition or try it on another night, I wonder. I can just see it being aired at 8.30pm on Friday nights.

As for last night, TV Burp performed terribly and obviously does not work midweek. However, BBC1 did awfully as well with the other channels benefiting. The football did ok if not superbly.

2 UK remakes are among them - FOX are having a second shot at Outnumbered and ABC have ITV Studios Identity.
I missed out Prime Suspect which is made by ITV Studios. It has been ordered to pilot (for a second season) by NBC's new boss.

For NCIS to increase despite competition from the football is excellent, I imagine it'll decrease a little due to Masterchef but remain above 2m. Cowboy Builders is faring well as well.

History of Ancient Britain and Madagascar did great for BBC Two and those type of shows do quite well for them.

Very good start for Mad Dogs, should be mid to high 1m in the officials.

Good retention for Marchlands. I imagine that includes HD; if not could be ~6m; with near 7m in officials. Initial signs suggest recomission.

Yeah it includes HD. I also think it includes +1, although I'm not 100% sure.

It's an 88% retenion which is pretty good for a new drama.

That's a great rating and virtually identical to last week. It shows that if you make the shows people will watch them.

Julie Walters cast in ITV1’s The Jury:
Bafta-winning actress Julie Walters has been cast one of the leads in ITV1 drama series The Jury.

The Jury was a series originally broadcast on ITV1 in 2002 and revolved around the trial of a Sikh boy charged with the murder of his classmate and the 12 people sitting on the jury.

Peter Morgan, the writer of the original series who went on to write Frost/Nixon and The Queen, is penning the five-part reworking, in which Walters will play a barrister.

Walters announced that she had been cast in one of the lead roles at a Q&A held at the BFI on 9 February.

The series, being produced by ITV Studios, will deal with a prisoner who has been serving a five year prison sentence for a violent triple murder when new evidence comes to light calling his conviction into question.

E4 [inc +1]
22:00: Skins - 0.67m

With +1 stripped out, likely to be around 550k - 570k, which would be slightly lower than last week's record low of 573k. Should be OK as long as it can settle in this range in the mid 500k and not drop any further.

Looking forward to it. We tend to Sky+ three parters and watch them back to back in one evening.

Marchlands is a 5-parter, and we've had 2 episodes.
It's annoying for Ashes To Ashes / Life On Mars fans to have to choose between this (Dean Andrews) and Mad Dogs (Philip Glenister / John Simm), PVR's notwithstanding.

Very pleased for the Marchlands gang, an excellent drama so far.

DS have updated.

Pretty strong retention for Marchlands and it will be interesting to see how it holds up for the next 3 weeks against Masterchef.

10 O'Clock live still below 1m and hopefully Ch4 will replace Rome with a stronger rating programme to provide a better lead in.

Poor night for Ch5 with nothing over 1m and I see there's another JLC fronted show on Monday next week with Steven Seagal. All of his shows have shown variety and it would have been better if there was a different personality fronting them.

Celebrity Juice returned to a strong audience, pretty much unaffected by Skins which fell to a new low. I'm not surprised really, because many (including myself) have given up on this series. That said it's still a decent audience for E4 and it should timeshift ok.

Wow, Coronation Street winning on a Thursday! This is probably due to the build up to Leanne and Peter's blessing. Hopefully that will propel the ratings up on Monday to around 11m, clawing back to post-tram crash levels.

Neighbours also seeing a rise to nearer the 1.5m. Encouraging, but still a way away from the 1.7-1.9m that it normally gets at this time of the year.

another 1 million+ BBC 3 rating for EE, and no soap clash to explain it.

Soaps seem a bit low, nothing over 9m. Glad Marchlands retained the majority of its audience. Hollyoaks did well on E4, but a dismal C4 rating.

Corrie seems to be creeping up again now there's an advert out promoting next weeks episodes. Mondays should be close to 11m. EE has seen a bit of a drop this week-even without the soap clash Monday & Thursdays episodes have been down.

Emmerdale remains as stable as ever and last nights episodes were pretty decent with a plot actually advancing for once. I can see next weeks episodes seeing a boost and Thursdays 2nd episode should be back to over 8m.

-----

Also some commissioning news from Ch5:

-Impossible-6 part illusion show
-The Candy Bar
-The Beat Goes On-karaoke gameshow
-Mexican Food Made Simple
-The Restaurant Inspector
-Great Escapes-Paul Merton fronted doc
-The Walking Dead-US series
-Living In Las Vegas-JLC fronted doc
-So You Think You Can't Drive

Apart from The Beat Goes On, all of the above look like really decent shows and different to the stuff Ch5 is airing atm. Most of them look like successes too.
