Mariah Carey - ''For the record'' - Song from ''E=MC2''
I have always loved this song!
I love the 'e=mc2' album anyway and always remember first hearing it and being like 'oh its that song used in her perfume advert' (which I liked when i heard it originally). I don't know whether it would have been a hit or not but it's got a different sound to it. Love it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkYPdxSTfg0 |

I love that song too, i like the chorus becuase it is catchy.
"I don't wanna spend my life Thinking what it could've been like If we had another try (one time) Like back in the day That look on your face Feels like, the first time" She should of released Migrate as a single though. |

A good song from a good album. Seriously underrated album in fact. Migrate would have been a huge hit if released as the first single.

One of my favourite songs too. E=MC2 is such a great, underrated album. I much prefer it to Memoirs, I have to admit, although that has some good stuff too. I hope she has a lot more success with her next album.

I was just listening to this before! Absolutely amazing song, I love her varying whistle at the end of the song. It's like a burst of emotion.
Touch My Body and I Stay In Love were both great singles (though I can't fathom why the latter didn't do better), imo, but Bye Bye and I'll Be Loving You Long Time were way to generic to be hits. For the Record would have done well. Why Migrate wasn't a single is completely beyond me. Some single choices for artists, not just Mariah Carey, are down right ridiculous. |

I'm really not a fan of Mariah Carey as a rule.. but E=MC2 was just so flipping awesome. I loved it.
![]() Touch My Body is still probably my fave though -- I loved Heat as well

I really like this song. So relaxing. Love the long High note near the end. I liked the album too. Poor decision not to release 'Mirgrate' as a single. To be honest 'Bye Bye' was a bit boring for a single release.

I agree, Migrate would have made a good single. Bye Bye is a bit boring.
Cruise Control would have been a brilliant single too, as would Side Effects and O.O.C. have been. Dammit, the wrong songs were released as singles really! And I Wish You Well is a brilliant ballad. |

I liked 'ooc' but doubt it would have done well as a single. I don't think 'heat' would have done too well either', I guess there was a lot of 'filler' for the album but it had its stand out tracks, 'for the record' being just one of them.
