Just been listening to it a few times in the last hour and cannot get enough of it, it is mint. I miss the late 90s and early 00s music! Also other songs i have been searching for are: Blink 182 all the small things and tatu-all the things she said.

The song reminds me of my childhood, not big memories, but i remember being around 7 at the time it came out. That era had a classic feel when i think back to it, then again we will probably say the same about the current era.

Where have you been searching?

I agree, Blue is a classic! I need to get that on my Spotify. I was 12 or 13 when that came out, and there were a lot of good tunes released in 1999.

That era had a lot more variety than today, and the quality of music was better.

Check out Tatu's other songs too.

You may not remember, but in 2003 they entered Eurovision and had upset the Latvians in the stadium so they booed them throughout the night. However, the Latvian public gave them 12 points in the vote. Very strange.

searched on youtube i meant LOL. well even if they did get booed, i would still expect them to top the votes maybe? Why were they booed? is it just me or 'does all about us' by Tatu sound similar to 'all the things she said'?

I still absolutely love the songs that you mention! It's weird how it's been so long since I've heard these songs, that whenever I hear them now, they still sound amazing and not at all dated. Also, unlike current chart songs, I can repeat these songs for hours on end. I always felt that my music tastes had changed when I grew up, but after listening to song that I listen to when I was younger, I don't think that's the case.

Other songs that I'll think you'll love and will bring back some memories are: Sum 41- Fat Lip and In Too Deep, O Zone-Dreagostea Din Tei, Smash Mouth-All Star, Alien Ant Farm-Smooth Criminal, Bloodhound Gang-Bad Touch, The Corrs-What Can I Do, Jo Jo-Leave, Jem -Wish I, Just a Ride, They (listen to They and you'll get transported back to 10 years ago!), Touch and Go- Would You, Aqua- Dr Jones, Hanson, Crazy Town- Butterfly (so awesome!), Sixpence None the Richer- Kiss Me.

I have so many more songs, if you want to extend your nostalgia trip, as I think you have similar tastes in music as me! As you can see, I really miss music from 10 -15 years ago so you're not alone!

my brother used to be obsessed with this song (he was about 5!). He had it on repeat for weeks (he was also singing along very loudly and badly, and missing out tons of lyrics...he only actually knew the chorus)

good times.

In a bit of a coincidence as both tracks have been mentioned in this thread, one of the B-Sides for The Bloodhound Gang's The Bad Touch was a remix by Eiffel 65.

I was a bit younger than you when the song came out. I'm 18 now, but I have so many great memories from Blue when I was a kid. Also Barbie Girl by Aqua and Believe by Cher, I LOVED at that age, and I listen to all of them all the time. I remember watching it on Top of the Pops, and I remember the music video with the blue aliens, which I found scary at the time!!

Have you heard Sugar by Flo Rida? It samples Blue, so I love Sugar by extension. I was so happy it got popular a couple of years ago, because I noticed a few people at my school started remembering the original song too. And Flo Rida clearly knows what songs sound good sampled!!

Isn't it weird to think all those kids that are like 6 years old now will be talking about songs like Only Girl and I Gotta Feeling in 15 years time, in the same way that we're talking about Blue right now!

And, I'm willing to bet a lot of money, that back then, all the adults thought we'd forget about Blue in 6 months time. How wrong were they!!!

Why were they booed?
Latvia were hosting the competiton and I think they made some comments about Latvia which upset the Latvians in attendance.

'does all about us' by Tatu sound similar to 'all the things she said'?
I think it has a similar theme. I don't think it sounds the same though. It is an excellent song, as is All the Things She Said. I added those two and Blue to my Spotify last night. .

'Believe' by Cher is a memory of the late 90s era and when 'Blue' came out too! That is how i think of that era of music, but did not mention it because i didn't think people would have a similar feel to the type of songs and how people remembered that particularly era. Good times! Would love to go back to that era, but would keep the way i look now the same and not what i looked like back then, thank you.

Me too. I'd love to experience what it's like to be my age with those songs popular, if you know what I mean. Just to see what it's like. I don't know which I'd prefer, because I'm quite enjoying the music scene now, but I have some such fond memories of back then too, even though I was very young.

But I also think things always seem better after they've passed. Like even from a few years ago, I liked the music, but it's only now that I'm appreciating how good the music from, say, 2007, actually was.

I agree with that last part, it is only later on you realise how good music was the year before etc.

Maybe this belongs in a twisted lyrics thread but I used to think they were singing

"I will die in Aberdeen, I will die in Aberdeen ,,,,,"

From the sama era, I used to think the song 'Brimful of Asha' had the line 'Everybody needs a bosom, Portillo'. Thought it was a political statement!
