Suggested comic stores for back issues in Central London ?

Which comic stores in London have a large back issue collection going back to the late 90s/early 00s ?

I'm visiting London for a couple of days next week and (if I have time ) I would like to find some back issues from some DC series.

Thanks for any suggestions.

While I've not been in a while Mega City Comics in Camden and Mighty World of Comicana where the best. The later is just around the corner from the FP superstore.

I used MCC mostly, it was the only shop that ever looked like those tantalising glimpses of American comic shops that you would see in old Marvels and DC. Go there and then have a nice walk through Regents Park.

Thank you for the suggestions.

It looks like Comicana is a more viable candidate for visiting as I will have very limited free time available.

Thanks.

Orbital have a wide selection of back issues and the staff are very friendly.

I've found that Comicana tend to look at you like you're a moron if you ask a question that they think you should already know the answer to. That is if the guy in there can be bothered to get off the internet to talk to you...

Here's the website for Orbital: http://orbitalcomics.com/

Just to say, I don't work for them or anything, I've just had a very good experience.

Mighty World of Comicana still appears to be there via online searches. It was over five years since I was there. Its at one end of Shaftsbury Av, near New Oxford St. Closest tube is Tottenham Court Rd and as I said is only a few minutes away from Forbidden Planet.

Happy browsing!

Thank you for the Orbital Comics reference; that also looks to be very promising.

Yep, it's still there - I was in there in November.

Completely agree about Comicana. Plus everything is sooooo overpriced! Every time I walk past the shop it's always empty of customers so I'm amazed it's still in business. Especially when decent comic stores like Comic Showcase close down. Makes me wonder if the shop is just a front for something less legal than just selling comics. Allegedly.

GOSH used to have back issues downstairs, worth checking out

Or you can attend the monthly Comic Mart in The Royal National Hotel, Bedford Way, London. Admission is free and the next one is May 1st 2011 starting at noon.

A great place to purchase cheap tatty comics (both American and British) and view fellow "Comic Book Guys" rummaging around the 25p bargain boxes. And if you fail to find anything you're only a few minutes walk away from GOSH.
