How much of a chance do you think there is?

I thought the actual iTunes release was still Sunday after the Grammys?
![]() Still, I don't even know if it's realistically possible considering the US factors in airplay? They're not going to play the single more than once an hour. She'd have to sell ridiculous amounts of units to make up the difference, and it usually takes a few days for word to get out about a new single...so it would be too late. |

We close up shop on Saturday for our charts, so she'd need to outsell everyone in a day and a half. Doable, but unlikely.

It' not been confirmed she's releasing to iTunes that early - she may leave it till Sunday and just let us listen to BTW on Friday. I don't see the point in having a few thousand sales in 2 days, when they could be left until Sunday and counted for next week, then she should certainly be number 1

I hope she does go to No.1! If not this week then she most probably will another week!

I think it's released Sunday everywhere, after the Grammys, UK too.

If she does really well in two days, and all the Little Monsters rush out to buy it, and it lands in a good position, though probably not No.1, and then the next week the sales level off because she wasted her two opening days for sales, would it struggle to get to No.1?
It's a possibility. |

What I find shocking is how people are going to buy it based entirely on first listen (or rather on who Gaga) is. For the point to be proved, it needs to reach top 10 this week and will undoubtedly climb to the peak next week, let the British talent that is Chipmunk and recovering Chris Brown have their number-one, it's deserving; unlike Gaga - a song no one has even heard yet.
Not that I'm saying I'm not a fan of Gaga, but if I like the song, I'll wait until it's been about for a few weeks, to see if I actually enjoy it so much to purchase it; rather than buying on impulse like the rest of the UK will no doubt do. |

![]() If the song is awesome, I want it as soon as possible. I won't like it more if it gets to number 1, or like it less if it doesn't. Can she do it though? Friday and Saturday sales? I think it's a possibility. What would be awesome is if they get it out to the clubs at the same time as radio, so I can hear it when I go out Friday and Saturday night. |

You've got to feel sorry for Chipmunk and Chris Brown who have scored a UK No1 with Champion in the midweek charts only to be usurped by Lady Gaga on Sunday with her 2 days worth of sales if Born This Way is indeed released on Friday to download and purchase.
That's the way the cookie crumbles boys!
