At the end of the day you had a faulty phone on more than one occasion, you are entitled to get upgrade canceled. I don't buy a phone on contract nowdays, as in the long run works out cheaper with a sim only deal, and you only get a one year warrantly so if it goes wrong while in a 2 year contract your stuffed.

Just a thought if you have issues with CW on getting a replacement, ensure the phone they offer is at least the same value as a Desire HD!! If you want the same form factor then ask for a HTC HD7, which is a WP7 phone. I am surprised you cant get an iPhone4 on your deal - perhaps ebay the HD and pay the difference
![]() ![]() I've been looking at their website for similar priced phones, so no worries there. |

Each of the 3 phones you had, did you download the same set of apps on to them?
I sometimes come across an app which is poorly written and drains the battery. |

Think it's time to contact the big man
Explain that you have wanted to cancel an upgrade in line with their returns policy due to a handset fault and that the store are refusing to let you. May also be time to contact trading standards or consumer direct too |

Update today - upgrade cancelled.
I can go back and choose another phone with a new contract. Now I don't know if I want to, I may downgrade and stick with the phone I already had. |

If you do hang on, go to upgrades.O2.co.uk and change to 30 day sim only if you aren't already on it. Will be cheaper than a normal contract tariff and you can upgrade it straight back to a normal contract once you decide on a phone

That's a great result shame you had to go through all that hassle though. My contract with Virgin was recently going to run out so bought a phone sim free, got a cracking deal with them for £10 per month. 500 mins unlimited texts and 1GB of data, so maybe you could try that route with your network.

Husband broke his N90 after he'd had it for 6 months, it wasn't insured. To replace it he needed to fork out £400 odd quid. So I took over his contract, stopped my simplicity and he took out a new contract for the first iPhone. Now the contract's over, I will wait. I've been to gsmarena, nothing jumps out at me, so I'll hang I think. I'm using my daughter's old mob as I've given her my old BB. Hey ho... |

The simplicity sim? That's what I used to have a few years ago, month to month basis for £20.

My upgrade is up in July and was thinking of getting a HTC Desire HD, starting to have second thoughts about it now.

I've got the Desire. Great phone as well. If you're willing to wait, the next 6 months should have some great new phones on the scene. |

![]() UPDATE: Rather than go for the simplicity sim, I've got myself the BB Torch. So far, I love it. ![]() My last phone was a BB Curve 8900, so it's like coming home, with a few extra features! |
