I'ts lovely, very ergonomic. I have a feeling the battery life will be just fine too.
Thing is last time I tried a phone that wasn't an iPhone I soon regretted it and soon sold it to help fund my iPhone 4 which wasted an upgrade

Saying that I'm in the twitchy 8-12 month phase of owning a phone when I start to get bored with it and want something new. This is never good lol

Thanks Prodigy, enjoy yours

UPDATE: Rather than go for the simplicity sim, I've got myself the BB Torch. So far, I love it.

My last phone was a BB Curve 8900, so it's like coming home, with a few extra features!
just had a wee look at that on the BB website, nice! first time a BB has tempted me!

Queenshaks, for me its been a toss up between a Desire HD and the Torch. My work collegue has a Torch and it looks and handles pretty well.....Least you're happy with what you got in the end.

My BB Torch is the dogs, it really is. I am so happy, it's untrue. I have been playing with it, texting and calling, albeit not for long, the battery life is still about 60% at least.

Glad you found a phone to suit your needs. A happy ending atypical for these forums so good to see

Hows the screen on it? Having had a retina display for the past 8 months I think any phone with a lower resolution is going to look horrible were I to buy it. My other half's 3GS certainly does look horrible to me anyway

I know what you mean, when I look at my old 1st gen iPod touch, I really notice the pixels now, which I never did before the Retina display.

Being biased, I have to say the screen is fab. Why don't you go and play with one in CW or somewhere like that?

My husband has an iPhone 4 (I think I may have mentioned this several times ) and he loves my BB. He said if he could have an additional phone, he would certainly get one for himself!

May have a play sometime. Blackberry and windows phone 7 are the main smartphones I've never tried and I'm forever seeing people on my social networking sites broadcasting their BBM pin

I'd probably be the same if I had one. I've seen people on twitter broadcast theirs to the world inviting stalkers, spam and spam from stalkers

I'm torn between getting the Desire and the Desire HD. Is there any point of forking out the extra for HD version?
I like a good camera on my phone and internet browsing.

I'd be surprised if there was a huge difference in cost between the two - you can get the DHD for £25pm from most places now, which can't be much more than a fiver more than the Desire

yeah but a fiver a month over 12 months is money that could be saved! i just wanted to know whether the HD was worth the difference

The HD screen is larger, which is a real boon for internet browsing.

The camera is 8 Mega pixels rather than 5, I gather an unmixed improvement (no corresponding loss of quality), although you have to tweak the default settings to get the best out of it.

It's also a more modern phone, with a bit more RAM (and I think more internal static memory, too, but I can't find the specs on that). The battery is smaller, but the claimed talk-time is significantly longer.

The downside is that it's physically bigger and heavier, and the screen does take a bit more power in use. I have the HD, and I love it, and I suspect it would be better for you.

Thanks, I am leaning towards the HD. choosing a new phone has been such hard work lol!
I was looking at the Samsung Galaxy s but the camera has no flash I don't think
