I've treated myself a new iPhone this week but got a slight problem. I can connect to the internet fine through wi-fi. But when im out of a wi-fi area my iphone4 keeps saying " can not open page because it is not connected to the internet" it then says "could not activate cellular data network"

I had no problem with my old htc hero accessing the web without wi-fi thought the t-mobile signal, so why have i got a problem with the iphone?

First thing I'd check is the data settings. I know O2 has different access points for iPhone tariffs and normal tariffs. May be the same on t-mobile

Ive tried to check the data settings, poeple have told me to go into the data roaming menu, but all i have in the network menu is the option to turn data roaming on and off.

Settings/general/network/mobile data network is where it is for me. If the setting isn't there, it's auto configured by the sim card in which case a call to customer services is in order I think
