That may be the price in London but not round here.

Incidentally, there aren't many £500,000 houses in Selkirk, if any.

Just for information, here are two links that give some background on Shell. I make no comment on them; draw your own conclusions or indulge your own prejudices.

Yes, I know I said I wouldn't post the first one again. This is the last time; promise.

Incidentally, Midspan, as a Gala resident you're close to Shell's territory. Have you heard anything locally about her?

Do you really believe that Shell thought hmm we're a little short of money at the moment, what can I do to help out, I know i'll audition for a game show then spend over 2 months locked in a house and beat all the other contestants to get us 50k, then we'll be ok... simple.

Her harping on about 'doing it for her family' is bullshit, you think her family is happy to see her running around the garden naked in front of millions to try and earn them a measly 50k? she's the same as all the others, she wants the public to adore the 'little princess' she's doing it for herself and herself only.

It'd have more respect for her if she'd said 'If I'm lucky enough to win i'll give the money to my parents' rather than 'I came on here to try and help out my parents'.

Does she "harp on" about "doing it for her family"? In other words, does she keep repeatedly mentioning this? I haven't heard her, but maybe she does.

Indeed, when or where did she ever say she was "doing it for her family"? Since you say she did, then presumably you're being accurate. However, in the short time that I've been looking at this Forum, I've seen all sorts of statements about Housemates that seem to have become accepted as true when there has been no whit of evidence to support them!

No, we Galaleans aren't interested in the slightest about the residents of Selkirk.

I don't think Shell can be that rich anyway, it looks to me like she's still wearing the same clothes she wore when she was 8 years old. the poor ickle girl!

Galaleans? I always thought they came from Galilee! (Well, maybe there's the odd vowel that's different, I suppose!)

What's the distance between Gala and Selkirk? About eight miles? How parochial you Borderers are!

Six miles (and at least 60 years).

I take it that it's Selkirk that's 60 years behind the cosmopolitan sophistication of Gala?

Selkirk sound like my kind of place, then! And I do like Selkirk Bannocks, though I believe at least some of them are made on an industrial estate in Gala.

Still, I suppose 1944 wasn't that great a year.
