Poor logo and text

Humax HDR, Panny TH42PX70. Select say ITV1 HD news at 13:30 for example. The logo and titling is really poor quality. The white text almost looks as if it's been written with chalk with bits of blackboard showing through. What might I have done wrong?
TIA.

Not reduced the transparency?

IIRC it looked absurd on its factory setting but once reduced to nil it was fine.

What settings have you used for vformat and can you confirm that you are connected by hdmi ?

Sorry.

Please ignore what I wrote in post #2.

I completely misread your question.

OK Jepson, I did wonder
Graham, vformat = 1080i and yes to hdmi.
Now (don't laugh) dancing on ice is a terrific picture, (so are most adverts including the text) but I'd have thought that studio news would be equally as good. The more I see the text the closer I get to throwing bricks.
A mate has Sky+ through a Sammy 42 and it's amazing although I haven't watched news on it.

Aha the news is most likely upscaled SD which may include the text captions. I wouldn't expect any significant difference viewing the same content between a sky-hd box and a foxsat-hdr using the same tv with the same settings.

If you have ITV1-Granada on your epg it' s currently the only 1920 x 1080 channel on the freesat epg.
