I haven't watched any AI so I thought I'd catch up with the Hollywood week shows, but the sob stories are ruining it for me! It's worse than ever and I'm finding it really difficult to watch. I just want more singing, rather than the time being spent on recapping the sad stories of the contestants who will obviously get through.
I really wanted to listen to more of Casey's rendition of Lullaby of Birdland but we barely got 30 seconds of it.

I think Nigel Lythgoe is trying to build up big fanbases before the top 12. Last year people didn't really know the contestants. Smart move even if it is annoying. That is why you are seeing the same people.
The commentary of 'Next we have a heart-wrenching story that if you don't collapse to the ground in floods of tears asking God why he would let this happen to a person then you have no heart....' is very annoying.
That's it, let's have some drama and errrr you know that 'singing' that the contest is supposed to be based on.

Makes it all seem like a carefully engineered soap opera. Not a big surprise really.

Nope, they have to feel like family first. So that we can all get really mad and complain on all the internet forums when they are shockingly eliminated.
