Can hardly believe a week has gone past since the party and I still haven't posted my report. RL has been so hectic this week, was on a massive come down from the party and then had two or three tense days waiting to hear news about a new job my OH went for. Things are still pretty mad but I've finally got a couple of hours to myself whilst OH is at the England/Italy game this afternoon.
Firstly and most importantly, I want to thank the party organisers for arranging the event so brilliantly. From the venue, to the food, to the programme of events, to keeping everyone informed, to the breakfast the next morning - it was seamless, professional and seemed to me anyway, to go without a hitch. You all deserve a massive pat on the back, you really do. xx
So, to the party itself, I won't go on too much as so many other people have brilliantly reported on events and you're probably all reported out by now anyway.
I'd travelled to Bristol on Saturday with my long-suffering non-JJJ friend and we arrived at about 1pm. Whilst we were in the bar with a complimentary coffee as our room wasn't ready, I caught sight of a couple of friendly faces that I knew from Twitter so I quickly went and said hello and we agreed to meet up later to go to the party. After a potter about in Bristol and a large cup of coffee in Costa's we went back to our room and I started to get ready. I was so nervous, wondering what the hell I'd got myself into and trying to imagine how the night ahead would go.
Eventually 6 pm arrived and I made my way to meet my new chums and head for the party. Once inside, there were loads of people (mainly females of course) all looking fabulous and excited. I was trying to spot some faces that I might recognise from Twitcams and photo's etc.. and I did see some familiar faces. Just wish I was better with names. Being shy, I'm not the sort to go bounding up to people and introduce myself so I apologise if I didn't say "hello" on the night. Now of course I'm kicking myself that I didn't steel myself to be more up front but time seemed to whip by and I was trying to get to know the lovely folks I'd just met on my table. They were all so friendly and welcoming. We had such a giggle and we seemed to hit it off straight away, it was great.
To cut a long story short, I had a wicked night. I thought the atmosphere was nice and chilled but you could also feel the excitement in the build up to the arrival of JJJ. Having never met John or Josie, I'll admit I was a bit over awed to see them. Lol. It's true what everyone says, Josie is absolutely stunning in the flesh, there's no other way of describing her and John is a very good looking chap too! They make such a beautiful couple, its awesome. Josie was hilarious from the off and John was too, once he'd kind of relaxed into it after the first few minutes. They both seemed in excellent spirits.
My table was one of the last to be visited by JJJ that night so they didn't get to us until after midnight. At least I think that was about the time, I'd been partying for 6 hours by then so I'd had a fair few glasses of wine! My meeting with them was short and sweet and, if I'm honest, a bit of a blur and that's not just because of the booze - haha. Sounds a bit silly but it felt like a bit of an out of body experience, what with all the excitement of the party and the anticipation of actually getting to meet them. Very strange. Anyway, I can only recall telling them both that I didn't have any questions for them and I asked them both if I could give them a hug for being so amazing (Cringe!!). Bless them, they both obliged and so I got a hug and a peck on the cheek from both of them. Too cute for words. John squinted at my name badge and starting asking who I was on Twitter but I just kind of ignored him and went in for the kill. Lol. He was taller than I expected, not as thin as I thought he'd be and he smelt lush (yes, I did have a cheeky sniff during the hug!). I knew Josie was going to be tall but she was REALLY tall so I was literally looking up at her! She was so gorgeous and, I don't know how to describe it really, but sort of serene and calm. I felt really emotional meeting her. Was so kind of choked up that I didn't give her even a second to say anything! I was in like Flynn and then scuttled off to the side to let the other girls have their time. I felt like a bumbling shy idiot but I was so happy to have met them at last and seen for myself how fantastic they are together.
So that was my experience. I met some wonderful people and was lucky enough to meet John and Josie too, albeit briefly.
Hope you've not dropped off to sleep reading this and apologies again for the delay in posting.
Big love to the JJJAT party. Would love to do it all over again sometime!
