Every text, every phone call, every time Aaron comes into the room Paddy's there quizzing him.

It's not normal!

Did Aaron never get any texts or calls prior to Flynn? Does no one else contact him?

I know he only does it because he cares but I wish Paddy would stop suffocating Aaron and being so nosy.

It's not just Paddy and his mum though they are all wanting to know the ins and outs of Aaron at the moment. Every time he is on screen lately someone is asking him about his sex life and the Jackson situation. I agree with the OP poor Aaron can't breath at the moment.

Yes Chas is just as bad.

No one behaves like that, quizzing someone each time their phone bleeps!

and if it's nbot Paddy or Chas, he's got Cain maing snide remarks., or Hazel on his back....

I can see it coming, Aaron's gonna end off having some kind of mental breakdown.

It's just exposition. A close-up of the text on Aaron's phone would hardly be riveting drama.

They do that quite often - let the viewer see whose number comes up on a phone or what a text says. I prefer it.

Its a way of them elaborating on the story without them actually having to show large parts of it and a way to get Aaron to share his feelings.
Though at times this has become over the top somewhat.

It's only natural that after Aaron's suicide attempt the parentals in his life are hyper vigilant. And Paddy can't help it. He's a born attentive papa.

I don't think Aaron's suicide has any bearing on this.

And there's a difference between being attentive and stifling someone.

I agree. I am VERY guilty of being an attentive mama! When someone texts/rings my son I REALLY have to resist the temptation to say 'who was that?'. He's 19 so I'm trying to control my nosiness nowadays and that's without the suicide attempt and other troubles that Aaron's had. God knows what I'd be like if I was Aaron's mum!

How could it not? It was not that long ago and not that easy (nor should it be) for family members to move on from. I think with Paddy it's a case of 'I let my guard down once and look what happened'. Paddy would be well aware that the Jackson situation is very stressful for Aaron and that Aaron doesn't handle emotions well. It would be superhuman not to keep constantly checking on him. With the new baby coming too Paddy's paternal instincts would be in overdrive.

Glad I'm not the only one then! And it's great that you're so understanding Personally I'm just interested in my kids lives - that's MY excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it

Back to Paddy though - I think he shows great restraint and he DOES try to keep his nose out but it doesn't last very long does it?! But with Aaron who can blame him? Like you rightly say, he keeps his cards close to his chest so he's harder to read. And I think Paddy is going a grand job!
