Breaking News for Forum Members!
pixel princess
28-07-2004
PP Newswire -- 14:15hrs, London, 28th July 2004

After years of research, it was announced today that medical knowledge has advanced to the point where some BB Forum Members may be able to permanently change their customary hostile and ignorant attitudes towards members of the public who have changed their sex.

Frequent and regular exposure to an intensive regimen of well-reasoned discussion and argument may lead to feelings of compassion and respect for others.

Further radical treatment can now also result in the acknowledging of the dignity and worth of these individuals.

It is also hoped that a surgical procedure for this unfortunate -- and possibly genetically-related condition -- may be discovered in the near future.

Durrr, aren't there only about 3 posters who are bothered by the sex change? Why rise to their bait with "spoof" news stories? Dear me... I get the impression that Big Brother is no longer about some people in a house and a voting mechanism to decide who is the "best" - these days it's more like a good chance for web forum posters to try and show each other up by picking over any negative or controversial statement made on the board. That's all I seem to read nowadays. Last-fortnight-blues, I guess

I am confused? I thought a thread got closed with a topic of Nadias sex change, what is the point in bringing it up again?

@pixel princess: amusing post you do know that all medical interventions need to be tried and tested on animals first...? so you're going to have to submit lab rats to "well-reasoned discussion and argument"... but maybe that's what the General Discussion is for.

Well said... I don't post much, but I do read an awful lot of what is going down on DSBB. Too many threads have recently been degenerating into personal insult matches and the actual topics of these threads have become obscured and irrellevant. If this trend persists IMHO DSBB is in danger of disappearing up it's own backside.

Hey, lighten up!

You're also in danger of disappearing where you fear DSBB is heading...

it does this of its own accord when the show comes to an end... sort of... if it had a 'backside' it would. anyhow, i appreciate pixel princess's attempts at injecting a little humour.

Hehe. Good post pixel princess - definitely adds to the TS moral debate.

... and brunobrookes, there may be only a few posters who express negative views but there are probably many other posters (who are reluctant to post), being helped to get over their feelings of discomfort about the issue.
