Loss of program info etc....

Over the last week my Thompson 250gb box has been acting very strangely.

Lost all program info. Rang the helpline. Told to change from 14 day to 8 day info.

Got the info back for two days -- then noticed some info missing, not all.

Rang again. Told to purge POV. Did that , but still some info missing.

Then noticed I had ten unread messages. They were telling my that the box had failed to record a whole load of TopUpTV programs. I don`t have TopUpTV and hadn`t set it to record them.

Purged POV again yesterday -- now find today that the two programs I set to record last night failed.

What is going on...?

6.54 has wrecked my box!!!

Missed recordings EVERY day -- some of them programs I haven`t even set including TopUpTV which I don`t have.

Slow response -- or NO response -- to remote.

Failure to delete recordings I`ve watched.

Locking up during delete proceedure requiring switch off & on.

No small preview video running in the library. Again, requires switch off & on to correct.

Some loss of program info. Again, requires switch off & on to correct.

Last night I even lost the sound!! Again, requires switch off & on to correct.

What idiot wrote v6.54? Let`s hear from him on this forum to sort this out -- or give us a better software -- or simply leave our boxes alone!!

PS:I considered reverting to an earlier version, but on my box that tells me it will be v4.07. Is that safe...?

We want to record programmes over the next 10 days - but seem to have lost the 14 day advance programme. It existed previously and is still set as an option in the set-up menu.
How can we fix this - without waiting 24 hours for the box to refresh uploaded information?
