Sorry if this has been asked and or answered before. I just want to know if anyone has any insight as the the 3 new channels from Electric Sofa.

info from their site:

We're launching three brand new televisions channels in 2011, on a number of broadcast platforms, free to air, in the UK and Ireland.
Film GB - the first ever movie channel devoted to British cinema

Sofa Screen - a new movie channel showing Hollywood Classics and new titles

Sofa Stars - the new home of the best entertainment

Does this mean freesat or freeview or both?

I'm sorry for all the theads asking questions, I'm not a techy, just wanting to find out information from the best people to ask, you lot.

This topic has been discussed at great length here

Anyone sensible will hope the answer is yes, but doubtful it will be on Freeview.

Dan.

Thers virtually no chance of them appearing on Freeview. Theres insufficient capacity, and the slots sell for huge prices (multimillions).

Thanks Dan for the link. I've just spent 20 mins reading all the posts (most of them off-topic, but still).

I would love to see these channels actually launch on Freesat (I've taken the plunge, installer comes on Tuesday).

Hi, Unfortunately we can't confirm if we'll be launching any of the channels on Freesat, and at launch they won't be in HD, however it is one of our ambitions to broadcast them in HD eventually. The most up to date news on the channels can be found in the members area of the Electric Sofa website; www.electricsofa.co.uk

Personally I can't see them ever going on to Freesat, there has been far too much talk and not enough do.

All we've heard from this company is vague promises, nothing tangible or nailed down, B/S can go along way if spread thinly enough.
