Foxsat with multi-purpose remote

I had a Foxsat HDR 320GB delivered today and I see that the remote control supplied with it is a multi-purpose one which should work with four devices once the correct codes are set. I've seen lots of critical comments about the Foxsat remote but don't remember that being mentioned. Is this new or have they always been that type?

Always - did you remove the protective film form the front of the display panel and from the inside of the panel itself?

Oh well. Thought I might have got an improved version. I'd removed the film from the front but missed the one inside. Thanks for that.
