I have had an HDR from the 1st week of launch. A few years on, I note the new Humax Freeview HD box is, or will soon be, DLNA (uPNP) compatible.

I have just upgraded my Network Storage to a new DLNA box so I can stream music/photos/videos to the TV.

I am wondering if the slightly old foxsat-hdr will be upgraded to DLNA or will I have to look elsewhere?

Anybody heard any news?

I have read the link and it all sounds very impressive. However it refers to viewing Humax files on other devices.

I am more interested in using the Humax as the media player for files stored on a Network Storage device (which as a DLNA sever installed). Will this be possible as well?

No one has touched Humax's application [as yet anyway] - The only non application way to do such a thing that might be possible is by an extension to the unix ext3 filing system whereby the HDR would think the files are on a new device. I doubt however if anyone would be interested in investigating such an idea as many have replaced their HDR disks with large ones and are using the HDR as the media player/media storage.

It would be easier to install fuse on the Humax box and mount the desktop as a drive permanently. No idea what the implications of this would be - whether the software would be able to cope with it...
