Virgin Mobile Contract Upgarde?
Hi
Currently on virgins 18.34 mobile deal with a Tocco lite. My contracts up on the 9TH April what will happen? This is the first time I've had a contarct phone. I'm liking the look of the Samsung Omnia 7. But £35 seems too high!!

You have to phone them up on 08456000789 on landline or 789 (free) on your phone 1 month or less before the contract is up and they will sort you out.
I phoned them up in January, got the phone the next day! and that on my last month of my former tarriff so it was good customer service. On a 25.83 per month contract for the HTC desire, typical that the month after, they have the HD out but not complaining as phone is running good. |

I have all, my upgrade is due on the 25th Feb. and i'm offered a Samsung Galaxy S for £25:53 instead of £40:85, or an HTC Desire for £20:43 instead of £35:74, all on a 24month contract Yes you can at a Virgin Media Store |

I've just had my upgrade and had exactly the same phone and contract as you.
I didn't want to be spending any more money per month to get a better phone, as the only phones available on the same tarrif were just slightly more up to date Samsungs which were not really worthwhile upgrading to. Like you, was also tempted with the Omnia 7 or Galaxy S but both are on much higher contracts, which i just would not use, and was not prepared to pay £200 cash extra for those phones to get them on the lower contract. After i called, I managed to get an offer for the Omnia 7 on a £25 contract, but wanted to go in store to play with the phones a bit. In store they only have a choice of about 5 phones that you can actually play with. They did not have any of the top phones, so if you are thinking about the Omnia 7 or Desire HD, etc, then it's likely you won't be able to test them in a virgin store. From the phones i could actually have a go with to see how they worked, etc, I ended up going for the HTC Wildfire. It's not as fancy or flash or expensive as the Desire or Omnia, etc, but for me coming from the Tocco Lite, and not really technically bothered, it does the job i want. It's still an android so does all that fancy stuff, and it's also got a nice white back which is pretty cool too. The biggest plus point for me is that i've got a fancy modern android phone, and all on a contract that is even less than what i was on before as it comes free on the £15 tariff! |

I hope you don't mind me kinda sidestepping this original question but out of curiosity if you forgot to contact Virgin when your contract is about to expire, would they contact you or would they just keep on taking the money by direct debit, just wondered.
I'm happy enough with the contract I am on and my phone is only about 6 months old so no need to bother with a new one. I am a newbie regarding phone contracts. Thankyou |
