Someone who has loads of contacts within the music industry? Has won radio awards and is committed to radio work alongside a very busy ibiza/gig schedule? Ask yourself why Radio 1 still has Pete Tong on Friday night?..

I still think James Barr is one of their best DJs at Capital...and yet he's doing 3am cover tomorrow morning.

I agree Durant should be on Capital but if he walked Global wouldn't be in a massive panic to fill specialist output. It would be a loss for them but they could easily pull someone in to take care of the specialist requirements the ex Galaxy stations have.

Agreed. If Andy walked, they'd probably get someone in with a lower profile that would demand less, or they would just extend the mixtape to 3 hours through the night at the weekend to make the hours up.

Exacly, as i say it would be a loss for Capital as Andy is a class act but it certainly wouldn't throw them into panic, in fact theres probably all ready a mixtape made to cover the specialist requirements should there be a problem with Andy's pre recorded show.

If you watch the Marvin webchat, I thought it was interesting that Max (interviewing) made a point of saying that "naming no names" some Capital DJs don't work the desk, but Marvin has been learning how to use it for months and will be doing it himself.
I'm guessing she was probably referring to Dave Berry.

Wow he's doing it live ? Fair does if Global have managed to get that. Most others do it VTed, Emma Bunton used to on her saturday show, JD the same and Mark Wright.

Greg Burns just said "we're 37 minutes away from Marvin on Capital". Hopefully he isn't a massive disappointment as a presenter.
I can just imagine his name being used in nearly every link by presenters today in the lead-up to 8pm.

EDIT : Marvin is talking to Greg on London Drive now. The show is live I think.

Marvin Humes will be live tonight and tomorrow. Not voiced tracked like some assume!

They are all Heart though.

I do think Marvin needs to be live on Capital because its prime time for them to read out texts etc.

Sounding very good here! Familiar capital playlist but with a bit of a kick and in the mix! Exactly what is called for!

Waiting for the 'big club anthems' that they prommised.. Really think they should aim a wee bit more to the ibiza special format.. Start light... end the show deep. (chart to big room anthems)

Will be interested to see if Christian is in the mix during 10pm-12midnight between Marvin and Andi on Friday nights. Would be a bit odd just to have a gap of just usual playlist music?

They have a gap between 3-5

Yeah, but that gap is not really as noticeable. The Capital Mixtape is on in the middle of the night because hardly anyone is around to hear it and its only purpose is to make up the specialist hours quota that the ex-Galaxy stations need to meet.

Peak Saturday evening time it would be a lot more obvious if there was a sudden format deviation. That's my rationale anyway!

Zedd - Clarity is now on.. wonder if they'll rerun his set or continue by throwing in more club orientated tracks after 10pm?

I think the remix versions of playlist songs is exactly what Capital should be playing, I don't really like Andi's show. These "In The Mix" shows are much better and are why they are on from 7pm and Andi is on from midnight.

Friday nights on Capital are sounding brilliant again. Marvin's links have been really strong and his timing has been perfect as well. The music has been amazing as well. The remixes and dance tunes he has played are sounding great in the mix. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Will Cozens is on now with "The Capital Late Show", back to playlist music - opening with Taylor Swift. Shame they couldn't keep the mixes going into the early hours.

Capital is sounding great at the moment. The production and quality of Marvin's show was very good indeed! Well done to all involved.

Will Cozens comes across as a nice guy and is a slick presenter perfect for the format, but his vocabulary grates with me. "Coming up real soon"....everything is "real" something...it's like giving his links a US-style to try and be cool! There's no need, Will! Everything is a 'capital late show anthem' too I've noticed!

This. He's ok but his style annoys me a bit- his links are too repetitive, are lacking personality and he's a bit bland if I'm honest but a solid presenter for the format. Personally, I'd swap him and Ant Payne. Have Will on Early Breakfast and put Ant on nights.

Was anyone listening at 10 o clock this morning? They did a new feature on all the local breakfasts called Re:Cap - was 20 minutes in the mix of Capital Classics like Martin Solveig - Hello, remix of Roll Deep - good times, LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem etc. was very like the Kiss Mixblock or a 20 mint Kisstory but in a more Capital Hit Music style. Apparently doing the same tomorrow at 10am as well. Really refreshing. Capital is sounding good at the moment!

I heard it this morning, with Matt Bailey of Capital Breakfast on air, sounded alot better going solo rather than as a trio.

Calvin Harris & NeYo - Let's Go, Britney Spears - Toxic, Nicki Minaj - Pound the Alarm, Tinie Tempah - Frisky, etc.

Yeah, those claiming Andi's show ending would put Capital bosses into panic mode are not realistic. To be honest, it's a very off-peak show (graveyard shift on a Fri night) and likely gets lower figures than their playlist shows that are on at the same time on other nights. It's only there to keep Ofcom happy over old Galaxy requirements, but that kind of banging club/dance music isn't what Capital is about or their focus, they'd rather be playing Rihanna/JLS etc. 24/7 with remix versions on Fri nights. They're a pop music station, not a club music station.

Andi's show would be a lot more at home on Radio 1, it stands out like a sore thumb on Capital these days, and I have been in taxi's with girls who ask the taxi driver "put capital fm on!" when they're heading somewhere on a Fri night, and Andi's show is on and they're like "this isn't capital!" or ask for it to be turned over again. People go to Capital for a mix of top 40 stuff.
