Clearly they aren't keeping them as all but one of the djs have gone. A token couple of hours replacing about 20 hours is hardly the same.

Hard to believe that it's nearly 5 years ago since the hit music network and Galaxy relaunched under the then new capital network! How time flies!

Disappointed that there is no mixing any more on Marvin's weekend shows. The format appears to be that they ditch playing Adele and just play anything upbeat. I have heard the odd older rhythmic tune thrown in on Saturday nights on "Marvin's House Party".

I note that they have ditched "The Midnight Mix" from Max's weeknight show, too.

Ever since the Capital network started they have switched back and forth from mix shows on Fridays and Saturdays to then just standard stuff which has always been a let down

They no longer have to provide club shows, as most of the stations under Global no longer have a 12 hour weekly requirement. Strange how the communicorp stations still have theirs!

And five years on and they've still never bettered Galaxy.

Too true.

The sound on FM is absolutely dire. It's easily one of the worst out there. Capital London has always been this bad as far back as I can remember, and the others have been the same since they joined the network.

One can only assume it was programmed by a deaf person.

Has Capital London announced who's replacing Lisa Snowdon yet?

Agree. Capitals sound is absolutely rottin. But supposibly "the average listener doesn't notice"
(not my opinion and i personally don't believe that is the case by the way all though i would agree they won't know the technicals of it)

I was looking for that information yesterday.
I see that Greg & Kat are hosting Breakfast all week this week and if you click on Dave Berry's profile it's shows he only presents 6-9am Saturdays

Incidentally yesterday was the fifth anniversary of the Capital network.

Personally I feel it's never bettered Galaxy, but now I'm in my mid-30s, I perhaps have rose tinted glasses and that I may have outgrown such a "yoof" station by this stage.

With juice on 107.6 being added will the strapline now change to 95-107? Rather than 106.

No i think its just that galaxy had life to it and capital (well) doesn't. Couple that with the fact that music seems to have gotten worse over the years (or at least the worst of it only gets the airtime)

Could it be you've outgrown the music they are playing?

Galaxy did have a certain swagger about it which made it stand out. Capital is a lot more of a mainstream listen.

Juice did try to (re)capture the feel that Galaxy had (until last year). I wonder how Juice will sign off in a fortnight's time? Extended Old Skool or non-stop music after BT40?

And if you check next Monday schedule for Capital London it's showing Greg & Kat still on Breakfast even though Dave is back covering the 6am-9am slot on Saturday.

Sounds to me like they've not managed to secure a replacement for Lisa as yet so are keeping Dave off too, he's back on Jan 25th apparently.

Capital Liverpool launched this morning.

I've noticed that the network shows are currently coming from one of the Heart studios. What's happening with the Capital studios?
