They are trying to make the company sound trendy like Google or Apple. It means nothing to listeners. Just an Ego exercise.

With all due respect, you clearly don't work for Global. How could you possibly know anything will intensify?

Or they genuinely are moving in the direction of putting 'Global' at the shop front.
A Global mobile app?
Global's Summertime Ball?
etc.

It's what iHeart have done.

When saying things like you do such as "will happen", yes of course you'd have to work there to know that. If something is your opinion then say so, rather than trying to make it sound like you have some kind of inside information.

Is this a joke?! You don't have to work within a company to know what's going on inside it. You can know people that work within a company to provide information. None of what is ever posted isnt common knowledge within the industry.

I don't believe you know anyone in Global. So you're just surmising.

Global, Global Radio, Global's Newsroom... no one cares.”

I know right, you don't here BBC saying 'BBC Radio 1/2/3/4/5live' or 'BBC News'... Oh ye you do, audience don't seem confused by that

You're right. It's not really been done before here but that doesn't mean it doesn't make sense. People don't know what Global is though, suppose they will in time.

I'm really enjoying the new TOTH's for Capital, they are much more upbeat and very slick, hope we get to hear the sung 'Capital' more! I think it's about time they dropped Howard Ritchie's voice, he just sounds very tired now IMO

The BBC stations you've mentioned are actually called BBC Radio 1/2/3/4/5live...

Capital FM Yorkshire's station name isn't Global's Capital FM Yorkshire.

And what if you're one of the Communicorp stations in an area where there's a Global station too...? It's hardly making it clear who owns what... which was the reason they had to be sold in the first place.

Not about 'ownership', the issue was who was selling local advertising. Everything coming out of the speakers is Global. Ok the local presenters are paid by communicorp's but I'm sure they're controlled by Parky and I think they even produce communicorp's ads

Surely it won't be long until we have promos featuring the voice of President Tabor himself, telling listeners all about how great Global is and making them feel privileged to be listening to his stations.

And you don't think it's an issue having two rival sales teams trying to explain to Bob Scratchit Driving School why even though Communicorp owns this, and Global owns that, the Communicorp station keeps saying it's from Global... you don't think that will confuse Bob Scratchit? It's Global taking the p* out of the Competition Commission's decision and having a clear market advantage over its now rival....

I * think* Ant Payne has been confirmed as the new 10-1 jock.

I don't think Bob will care as long as the station reaches the area he wants to advertise to and the listening figures are good.

those new jingles are dated as hell.. the singers sound basic and old, if i had to guess i would say pure jingles and probably nrj or ktu re sings which is a little odd for global. i like the beds however, they are fresh.. either way capital need to up there game, they have had this sound for so long now .... they need something different like the equivalent of an intro for their song outros or something to really sonically amp them

edit: yes its a nrj a re sing package, i just heard the second cut on there website and its the same vocal comps

They need to ditch that awful deep 80's style voice over as well. It gives me the creeps!
