I'll miss him on Capital Liverpool! Really enjoyed his last shows last weekend. For the little time Global allowed him to speak on the station he was a good laugh and always sounded like he was enjoying himself.

At least he sounded like he was from Liverpool too! You've now got Ben Sheppard who clearly sounds Welsh and Sarah Storey who sounds like a Manc (to me), on Capital Liverpool!

They won't sort it out unless they're forced. The dual frequency issue is basically keeping a competitor out of an important market. I bet that's how they'll see it.
According to documents to Ofcom to Global Radio Ofcom want,s Global to sort out that issue regarding the 97.1 frequency, Global have suggested they want to put a rely of capital xtra on that frequency however nothing happened since, I have tried to look for the report on the Ofcom website but its says error 404.

I've never heard of that before - what was the link supposed to be?

Capital Xtra would work. Gets that station into a major city too (outside of London) on FM, Liverpool.

So Rachael has to be in Wrexham then?

Where's Hitmusic when you need him? I thought he knew everything?
Sorry, Ive been on holiday in Mexico, But sounds like the question has been answered! 😎

No, it hasn't though. People have guessed but we still don't know if they have to be in Liverpool or can be in Wrexham. Or the other way round for Capital N.Wales. Just answer if you know though. Or say you don't know if you don't know.

A one-off show from Wrexham for Liverpool wouldn't matter I'm sure. They probably wouldn't be able to do it all the time; but as it was just a one-off it wouldn't have mattered. It looks like Baz is scheduled for this Sunday on Cap Liverpool!

Ben Sheppard from Capital NW & N.Wales is currently on Capital Liverpool (instead of Baz Todd) and Rachael is on Capital NW & N.Wales (Where Ben would usually be today). I can see why they've done it like that as they want Ben on the bigger station as he's got more experience.

I'm wondering though, due to the Ofcom rules will Ben have to be in the Liverpool studio or can he do the show from Wrexham? Vice verse for Rachael.
Local shows have to be from the local station studios. In terms of Ben being on a bigger station because of "experience" isn't true. More due to availiablity.

Ofcom has no issues with the odd show coming from out of area. They're sensible folk.

Often presenters when they cover, travel to the station they're on. You can do shows from most places, but it's a faff to make sure all the tech works and it often introduces the potential for problems. It's far less hassle to inconvenience one person - a presenter - and send them down the road.

What you're saying contradicts what others are saying on the thread. Are you saying that they can't do cover from neighbouring Capital stations?

Local shows must be made in each stations license area. Some station broadcast areas do overlap, However this isn't a prompt to produce local shows from other stations simply cos you can receive that station in a different area. Now and again it would be acceptable for a station to produce a live show from another station, If this happened regularly then it would be a breach of Ofcom guildlines.

However news bulletins can be produced from outside the local station area.

This happened on Coast 96.3 ( now Capital N Wales) a few years back, when the presenter never tuned up and we had a show from Buzz 97.1 instead.

There where some odd adverts last night on Capital N Wales, not the ones that you normally hear every day, they where ads about road safety, fire safety etc which crashed into the first 30 secs of Will Cozens show, I'm losing count of the technical problems now, maybe i should do a spread sheet lol

On 96.3?

It's not on the Catch up in the first minute:

A rather emotional last show from Greg Burns on Capital tonight. Will actially miss him. It was his last drivetime show but will present the top 40 on Sunday and then that's it.

Ah yeah I agree, Greg is such a nice guy and such a natural presenter who is loved by the listeners; I don't think my evenings will ever be the same again without good old Greg. Could hear he was getting emotional, the surprise from all his global colleagues was incredible and he fully deserved such a wonderful send off ❤️

The Bassman didn't turn up to do his show this morning. The 6 o clock hour ran as automation with Toby Tarrant coming in to cover last minute from 7

Rather a big over reaction there for something that is more then likely easily explained away.
