Shame Greg has left now? Will Toby be like his dad and get the breakfast gig one day?
Not with that voice....!

Just catching up with the capital throwback,

The fact that Greg Burns was allowed to even mention he was leaving Capital on air speaks volumes. He was loved by all at Global and of course many of us. The last song he played was I Got A Feeling, BEP.

Yes, it's called djs having a personality, great when they can talk about local stuff. Shame Global have no concept of either.

If people just want the bloody music played, they would listen to their own music they they actually like, rather than the same old shite on repeat.
Yeah exactly, you could just plug your phone into the car or something. A radio station shouldn't be that.

I imagine Matt Wilkinson will take over that role, however it's an interesting one.... Matt seems to only cover solo. I have never heard a show done by both Matt AND Kat before (does sound like quite a good name for a duo to be honest xD). He covered when it was Rich & Kat, but Greg, as he did yesterday, covers alongside Kat.

I know that on several occasions both this year and last year Matt covered for Marvin. This was either due to Greg being unable to cover, or because both Kat and Marvin were unavailable. I very much doubt Will Manning will cover the chart; but who knows....
Exactly who knows, however Matt will have to present Capital Throwback too.

Greg is one of the nicest people you could ever meet; he was loved by the team and will never be forgotten. I noticed that he only mentioned, and payed his thanks, on Capital London. All other stations were just the usual 'Marvin's back next week have a great rest of your evening'.

Noticed that former juice fm presenter liam hincks is covering drive on capital north west and Wales tonight. Strange that Liam disappeared from juice towards the end as well as if there was a falling out with global.

Also former juice presenter Dylan evans is back on capital Liverpool this week filling in on breakfast.

I'm surprised they never kept Dylan Evans for weekends considering how famous he is with young people, especially considering how Global like big names

I think it's probably because he's going to Australia so not a rival station why he was allowed a little farewell.

Meanwhile the wireless group can afford to scrap midmorning networking on their tiny northwest stations but this vile heap of crap persists with its dull, cheap, repetitive sleep inducing output.

Cancer FM.

Relax.. it's just a radio station. Stick to City 2 if you still prefer that.

Not true, they allowed Jon Holmes to discuss leaving and he moved to a national radio competitor.

Jon Holmes moved to the Wireless group and Global let him have a farewell show.

Probably depends why they left and who they're going to. I personally think anyone who's done a decent time at a station and not being sacked for anything illegal e.g. If a presenter was uncovered under yewtree should be allowed a farewell speech/show

It's not unusual. I seem to remember hearing a clip of Neil Fox having a big send off. Not from Magic mind you.

Capital never let Johnny Vaughan say goodbye when he was dropped from the breakfast show after many years... he was simply called into management's office after a Friday show and was told he'd just presented his final breakfast show.
He wasn't fired for any scandalous reason, nor was he going to a rival station.

As it turned out, it was a good job he went quietly and didn't criticise them publicly as that then meant he was hired by Global again last year for the Radio X drive time show.

I wonder how come Capital N Wales has only 1 breakfast presenter, the others have 2 or even 3?

Exactly although I think he went to talksport for a bit correct me if I'm wrong though.

Yes, Johnny Vaughan did go to TalkSport, but that was years after he was dropped by Capital. He also went to Absolute for a drivetime show during the Olympics, but again that was over a year afterwards.
Vaughan did the Capital Breakfast show in London from 2004-2011, but was just told one day that he’d hosed his final show and he wouldn’t need to turn up to work next week. To me it always seemed a bit unfair (to him and his listeners) that he was never given the opportunity to say goodbye. Most listeners were just left wondering what had happened to him when he suddenly disappeared. It was Capital that dropped him, so it wasn’t like he had a new job and they were worried he’s promote a rival station on the air. I guess they just didn’t want him to bad mouth them on the air once he knew his show was coming to an end.

As I said, leaving quietly paid off for him because he now works for Global again, which would never have happened if he had publically criticised them for the way his departure was managed.

i don't think Wales makes that much money compared to the others eg Liverpool and East Midlands for that reason they only have 1 and there hours starts i've never heard a decaded Wales one?
