So as I expected, 'My Capital' has launched. A function in the app where you are able to skip the song currently playing and jump to the next. Obviously, that doesn't mean you can skip songs playing on the stream, but you can view upcoming songs and listen to them by skipping through.

In my opinion, this basically defeats the object of listening to the station, which lets face it, is all about the music considering the presenters only speak for 30 seconds about what offers Vodafone have got going on half the time

The good news is the app should perform really well as they can bundle all 5 songs with the app so no issues with signal when you are out and about.

He's still on the website. And neither he nor Aimee have announced anything on Twitter. Could Toby just be on holiday?

He is not on next week too like the poster says above he could be on holiday, although Global are good at pushing people out of the door though, but sill in my opinion he could be on holiday.

The news on Capital South Wales at 3pm went to pot, ads crashing into the news bed, I was listening to the on line stream.

Pardon me for a slip of the finger whilst using my phone to type.

As you are picking people up on grammar then maybe use capital letters and punctuation marks in your posts.

(a very "stv viewer" style of posting now I think of it)

I quite liked Toby every time i heard him, he seemed perfect for that time of the day. There was always a nice feel good vibe in his links, perfect to start the day. He seemed slightly clunky with the format and i think he would be better at a breakfast show where he has more time to talk. Wouldn't be surprised to see him appear on one of the local capitals doing breakfast.

He may also be slightly more suited to Heart where the format is tight still but not quite as tight as Capital.

I wonder why Toby Tarrent was dropped then?

Maybe because as the poster above suggested, he wasn't very good. Proof that a surname alone won't carry you. Quite the opposite to Kemp, who also has a famous father, has come on leaps and bounds and is bang on target for that age group. I'd dare say both Dads are good buddies of Mr Park

I would hazard a guess that Tarrant Jr was hired by Richard Park who, of course, has a long-standing association with Tarrant Sr.

But now Ashley's running Capital personally he's calling the shots, not RP, and has no such association.

He is presumably sensible enough to see that to the target Capital listener, the name Tarrant means nothing and so he's hiring people purely on the basis of whether they're right for the brand.
