Shame they didn't follow in the footsteps of previous years with clips of the year's news headlines. Considering the amount of change and surprise in 2016.
Perhaps too political, People these days get offended for the sake being offended.

Apprently according to James Martin on the Radiotoday facebook page, he has heard from an insider that Capital will drop local programming in 6 months, apparently.

This seems a pointless post. You know very well it isn't up to them whether they drop local programming.

It's not going to happen. They won't drop local programming because of the set up they have with communicorp. They can get away with Yorkshire, but that's about it!

But with deregulation I'm sure they will allow it to happen, otherwise what's the point of it being on D1 national.

I wish you'd stop banging on about deregulation when you really don't have a clue what you're going on about. It's like a toddler that's learnt a new word 🙄

Well they could always replace it with Smooth on the Commnicorp stations.

With all due respect I bet even the legendary Tony Blackburn doesn't know everything about the radio industry. There's always something to learn.

It's not going to happen! Deregulation doesn't include removal of the "devolved nations rule".. Smooth Radio won't be moving in Scotland. Listening figures shows how well its doing in Glasgow on the existing FM service.

If you know what's going on with the industry, please inform us of what's going to be on the Radio Today website for next week.

No reason why they could not have the London presenters doing recorded local links for the local shows, like they can do for the networked shows, this would then mean the local presenters are not required.

Yes i know but we shall see later this year Ashley Tabor see ,s capital as a national brand and im sure him and the radiocentre are lobbying for it to go ahead.

Someone with more knowledge of the licences would know this. But I would have thought that the local content would have to come from the local studio. Or else what is the point?
