If they change James Barr's show to how it was when he did on Friday nights on galaxy (proper in the mix) then the show would be good.
Plus Rich Clark seemed to adopt that same in the mix style(But clearly it isn't in the mix) they are simply selecting remix songs, and playing them with normal ones.
The Hit Mix on Leicester Sound was a lot better than the mix they seem to make on Capital (why don't they re introduce the Hit Mix?).
James is talented, I do like James as a presenter, but what he is being forced to play, isn't very good.

Why Don't Capital play classic dance tunes too (Other than Andi Durrants show)? Surely throughout the day every now and then ,they should play a classic tune, to add a little variety. I think that would be much better (and It would still fit in the Genre of Galaxy requirements).

If by 'classic dance tunes' you mean the likes of Robin S, Snap and Livin' Joy, then no. In my opinion, these songs would just sound wrong on a CHR station like Capital and although they may have had street cred at the time, I expect the average Capital listener would consider them as cheese.

However, I don't see why Capital shouldn't include more tracks within the past 5 years or so that aren't current, but still have 'street cred' among young listeners (for example, some of Rihanna's hits from a few years ago). This would make it a bit more varied but still keep the station's credibility and still keep the station within a CHR format.

I did notice James barr's mixing has gone to pot since Capital. Some of its alright, but a lot of it has been cut and stuck together. I'm a DJ my self, and a proper mix even with radio edits shouldn't be done the way he has been told to do it. Probably a licence thing, and the music he plays.

but james is on air 6 x 4 hours a week. mixing that amount of airtime must be difficult especially when his shows are still playlisted (maybe not his saturday one) but his weekday ones will be. some tracks he will have been asked to play one after another and they simply aren't mixable, if that counts as good terminology haha. they should get a producer / dj for the show that can do that for him and he can concentrate on his excellent delivery. one of the most talented guys in uk radio in my opinion. he's in a similar mould to greg james on radio 1, but probably better

For the first time, I heard the 8AM Capital South Coast News bulletin yesterday, when all I've normally heard is the 7.30am/7pm/weekend morning bulletins, which are pointless. I gotta say the 8AM bulletin seemed a little more worthwhile, it was brief, but more than three sentences. I don't see why they can't do this every hour?

And.. I know I'm opening up old debates.. but people arent turning away frm Radio 1 everytime Newsbeat is on, so why are Global afraid of news?!.... no reply needed, its a rhetorical question, im not sure I want to start this debate again.

Although I'm not quite sure what this fuss is over Capital's processing and their bass, I've not noticed it myself.

Had a massive amount of interference on 95.8FM today between junction 5 and 6 of the M25. Any one know what that might have been?

Capital has always suffered from interference around that stretch near Sevenoaks going back 20 years or more. However, due to the massive high pressure system over Britain today there could well have been distant interference from another station on the continent.

I can only assume then you either have no bass turned on or your hearing is that damaged and can't tell the difference.***

Was Listening to 95.8 in Kent on Saturday morning just before 8am and what was obviously a recorded link by Margerita was played which made me laugh, considering i was listening to London output it was funny to hear.....

I'm finding Dave Berry at weekends a very good listen and the specialist output very good too. Don't listen to Capital FM any other time than the weekends though!

A question though, does Sacha Brooks & Mash's shows come from Birmingham & Scotland or do Sacha and Mash travel down to London or maybe Yorkshire to present them?

I wonder what casual listeners to the London station (who may not know that Capital is a semi-national brand with a station in Yorkshire) would have thought of that???

They must have been quite puzzled I would guess, they may have thought it was some sort of joke that they didn't understand.

Mind you, since you're in Kent anyway, it doesn't matter whether you're listening to London or Yourksire anyway, as neither are in your area anyway??? (I know that's not he point but....)
