I agree, during the days of the hit music network, the playlist wasn't as tight, occasionally an old one came through (I seem to remember Puff Daddy & Faith Evans-I'll be missing you coming through a lot).
I think this was the DJ's knew they were getting sacked, or whatever its called, and decided to play against the playlist!
On Leicester Sound Damien & Naomi, on the weeks building to closure, would quite often play Christmas songs - even though they weren't supposed to. Ivan's Shows always seemed to have more variety too, he probably chose different songs to the playlist, maybe because he remembered the days of more music less chat & Today's Best Mix!
Occasionally a classic comes through on Capital, like right now James Barr is playing 'put your hands up for Detroit'!
& The weekends are a lot better since it became Capital (by the fact there more up beat-instead of just 30 minutes of Steve read, we get 3hrs of Andi, playing same style!
