I would love to see James Barr get a better slot than the 11-3 one. Who do you think will replace him on that slot, if he did move? Will Cozens? Or will they snatch Adam O'Neill from Yorkshire Drive to do the lates all week?

To be fair he is probably told to say this sort of bland showbiz stuff

Wow is mid 40s too old??

Lets face it the presenters are just following the format and playing the mind numbing playlist..Capital in my mind is awful. Remember years ago listening to Capital when it was a damn fine station...now its only a pale imitation of its once former self.

Yep, also meaning he's not on the Network between 11pm and 3am this evening. (Not sure who is, as he is still listed on the website).

Incase anyone is interested Emily Segal is filling in for Adam O'Neill this evening.

Quote:
“Capital FM is making the first major changes to its network schedule, 15 months after taking the brand national.

Midmorning presenter Roberto will leave the station and be replaced by evening show host Rich Clarke, while Luke Smith also leaves the station.

The new schedule, which comes into place from 2nd April, means Rich Clarke is replaced in the 7-11pm slot by James Barr. James’ late show is taken over by Will Cozens from overnights, while Pandora from Choice FM afternoons moves to Capital to do the overnight shift in the latter part of the week. Weekend presenter Emily Segal will do the 3-6am shift on Monday and Tuesdays.

Radio Today understands that Capital FM Manchester presenter Ant Payne is also moving to Leicester Square to take over some weekend network shows.

A spokeswoman for Global Radio told us: “Roberto is no longer with Capital. He has always worked extensively in other areas of broadcast, such as voiceovers and television work, and will now be going on to pursue those interests. We are confident Roberto will achieve equal amounts of success this year as he has had in his radio career with Capital, and he leaves with our best wishes for the future.”

She added: “Luke Smith has always been a freelancer with Capital and has always had other broadcasting irons in the fire which he is now going on to pursue.””

Yeah it took ages for me, too. Should be fine now though?

Looks like Mr RadioGoss knew what he was talking about the other day.

So does this mean Will is leaving his weekend 12pm - 4pm show? Also is Adam O'Neill still on Sunday 11-3 or is will doing that as well. And I suppose this Ant Payne is taking over either Luke's or Will's weekend shows?

From what I gather I think James is doing 7-11pm Monday-Saturday.

Glad they are finally moving James Barr to a decent time.

So:
Rich Clarke Mon-Fri 10am-1pm
James Barr Mon-Sat 7-11pm (Fri/Sat in the mix)
Will Cozens Sunday-Thurs 11pm-3am

This 'Pandora' from Choice and Ant Payne from Capital Manc will be doing Sat/Sun 12-4 and Sat 4-7/Sun 7-11, one way round or the other, at least.

That leaves the 3-6 on weds/thurs/fri, as it says Emily Seagull is doing Mon + Tues 3-6am in addition to her 5-8 on Weekends.

Erm...

From Radio Today
Pandora from Choice FM afternoons moves to Capital to do the overnight shift in the latter part of the week

Have I read it wrong, or does it mean Pandora will be doing 3-6am on wed/thurs/fri.

Nothing will beat those days. Although I'm glad global signed Andi, Mash and Sacha from Galaxy! still.. I do think capital need more specialized programming for the alternative nights (23:00-03:00?)

Also each regular show is kinda 'blan': having to hear the same old topic, same old tunes going through the night, no show features or game segments.
I understand they are a 'hit music station', but maybe they should spicen things up a little? that's just my thoughts about it.

Mash pre-records and schedules his show on Wednesday from Scotland
Sacha does the same but from her area.
Andi does his from Yorkshire, he does most of it live -with few pre-scheduled/recorded shows played out on weekends away

Although my question is that why haven't global changed the advert system since Mash and Sacha's shows were added to the 02:00 spot? They are every 20 minutes unlike 30 minutes andi gets.

Sorry I miss read that bit of the article. Yes you're right. But there will still be 4 shows to fill at the weekend, which she might do two of?

I always thought Sacha and Mash were live but broadcast from their respective locations. I do enjoy both shows though, shame they're only on at 2am

The shows are very off-brand for Capital, they're put on-air at 2am because they have to air them, not through choice.
