I'm sure I heard somewhere that council planning restrictions prevent them from having a logo on the outside of the building.

Yes it's fairly drab but as radio station premises go it's still pretty high profile - try finding Kiss & Magic for example, an even more anonymous building on a side street. And outside London most stations are on industrial estates. These days radio stations don't really need a visible shop front - the days of listeners popping in for a car sticker or a DJ photo card are long gone.

There was a definite online ban as well. Look at http://www.capitalfm.com/artists/one-direction/news/ Last article was on February 20th (The BRITs were on the 21st) then there was nothing until this weekend.

Are you for real?! Drab! Capital HQ is in Leicester Square!
Yates used to be the Capital Radio cafe but didn't make a profit. No logo can be place on the building.

Normal listeners are not interested what the station building looks like!

Yep as I mentioned just online news stories. No 1D will be played in the near future!

Absolutely. The fact that many teenagers are unemployable because they are unable to actually speak their own language is of no consequence, is it?

I do believe youth broadcasters should set an example - there's far too much "innit" speak - 1Xtra is just as bad.
Capital wouldn't give a monkeys so long as it got them down wid' da kids, but then it's just a social parasite these days, so no surprises there.

Still, there's always JD Sports I suppose.

Come on now behave! Having to read the Daily Mail everyday I've heard lots of apocryphal explanations for 'broken Britain' but never heard it attributed to James Barr and his speedlinks!

Didn't Shakespeare invent a lot of new words as well? So in many ways Totes Amaze and Amazeballs, are up there with Hamlet!

But they are speaking their own language..... Its just the sound of it is ever changing. Get over it. Romans spoke different to how you speak I'm pretty sure.

Why should youth presenters set an example?! Actually they do! They are speaking modern speech!

No you go off and carry on saying "the youth of today...." things evolve, shame most older people can't.

I have never read the Mail in my life. If I buy a paper, it's the Indie.

Certainly, English evolves probably more than any other language on the planet. However, as someone who has recruited for years now, I can assure you there is a large chunk of youngsters whom it is impossible to employ in any position which requires verbal or written communication - other than with their contemporaries.

Nice to see Capital dumbing down speech as well as music.

Sure. Fine. I just don't want to hear about the youth unemployment problem whem a good many are completely inarticulate. They can't even hold eye contact.

It is dumbing down, without a shred of doubt.

Is it me, or is there some sort of playback issue on James Barr's show? It sounds terrible.

Kiss House on the Holloway Road used to be a great HQ....before Emap moved the station.

Capital just played One Direction 'What Makes You Beautiful' at around 8PM today.

I thought they banned them from airtime/playlists?

EDIT: TV Crazy beat me to it! Haha

This was suggested from the start. Publicity anyone? I'd say they got some, now they'll get more.

i know these forums can be full of negative comments about 'robo-jocks' etc. but i've been dipping in and out of local Capitals and I must say, Rob Howard on North East drive is a fantastic find for Capital. A thoroughly good listen in the evening, every link packed full of personality but still fast paced. Much better listen than radio 1 i find with more music and dare i say it, more personality. Good on him! Adam Inker on South Coast is good as well and of course Sacha in Brum. Twiggy and Emma also much more entertaining in short burst links on drive. Think it's all sounding much better at the mo!

Streamlining. Why have a bunch of different Facebook groups/pages for each area (which could lead to possible confusion) when you can have just one. Makes it much easier for listeners to find you.

The 'Zoe Gillies' profile has today claimed it's going because they've reached the maximum friends (Google search reveals it's 5000 - They're on 4998 when I checked)

Are any other accounts closing? or just Zoe & Gillies? I don't think it's the "OFFICIAL 103.2 CAPITAL FM SOUTH COAST - GROUP" group that's closing, its their profile account (They don't have a Facebook Page)
