It was Vicky Warham, she's been freelancing on Capital Scotland and NE this weekend.

Good on her. I heard on the grapevine she was shown the door from Viking so good to see Global taking her on. She was on Rock FM last week too so not totally away from Bauer.

Are the Digital Bauer voice track shows still done for free by contracted Bauer Place Presenters?

One of the best female jocks IMO.

Don't see why everyone goes on about the distortion, keep in mind Galaxy had that too, just they had a deep bass to go with it and it didnt makes everyones vocals as raspy/essy, just turn on the loudness button on your stereo, problem pretty much solved

Anyway on a more exciting note, did anyone see Bieber at the Summertime Ball, I heard he gave somebody a present on stage or something like that

Shame. She was a 'breath of fresh air' on Viking weekend afternoons. Now it's often Patrick Billington and Liam Smedley on 7 days a week - they aren't bad presenters but not as lively as Vicky, and it gets a bit boring hearing the same two voices 7 days a week

I get very weak fm reception around kirkstall in Leeds and between Leeds and York generally ok but definitely nOT as clear as radio aide or bbc 1/2.

At first I thought it was my car antenna as ive had coaxial connectors repaired in the last week. However if radio aide is clear (and minster fm which is much weaker signal is fine too), then what is it with capital Yorkshire? Their mast at Emley moor is miles away I suppose, and 2.4kw isn't that strong. Could that be the answer?

How does everyone else around Leeds find capital on fm?? I find it the worst received and worst clarity on my whole fm list

Well... There are two transmitters that you could be receiving us on in that area - Emley and Idle. What frequency are you tuned to? 105.1 or 105.6? If it is 105.6 please return to 105.1 and see if you notice any difference.

Thanks for the tips, however both are not brilliant.

Think I'm putting it down simply to the area - Capital and Real just aren't the best reception (both from Emley I think), and up Kirkstall Road in Leeds before heading up the hill to Horsforth we are in a natural valley anyway. I just think the FM signals struggle a bit.

As would be expected the national radio stations are better (but you can still tell they switch to mono in places)

I've heard it a few times on South Coast over the last week. They've had them aired before a in previous months, as well.

They seem to be plugging weekends.

Who used to be on Radio Aire drive and afternoons a few years back with Cameron and Alex Pepper.

Think she went on maternity and never came back. Her other half is Andi Durrant I beleive

Forgot to mention it but was James Barr back in the mix last friday ? I wasn't 100% sure as some songs defiantly were not mixed but others seemed to flow into each other. No so much a remix but a sort of transition that sounded mixed.

I think he's playing extended mixes of the original tracks to mix between songs. For example, he played 'Changed The Way You Kissed Me (extended)' and after that played 'I can only Imagine (extended)' on Saturday meaning he mixed them together using the typical 1 minute long beat sequences at the beginning/end of the extended mixes.

Does anyone know what happened to Alex Pepper? He had a massive following when on Galaxy and inspired many to get into the dance music scene, if I remember correctly Andi Durrant sent Alex a mix tape to play out on his show, which gave Andi his first step into radio, I maybe wrong though!

Alex went to Aire did the drive show with Liz and Fri/Sat night Floorfillers after three years he left

Retired from radio many years ago, went back to using his real name and got a normal job last I heard.

Shame. He was bloody brilliant!

Well Radio 123 was proven right in the end about Heart taking over Real - so that means it is clearly still possible Heart may be taking over nightclubs and going worldwide!!!!
