I wondered what they were going to do with this. Makes more sense than to have Bassman live from Hyde Park, then go to local drive in local areas, then go back to James live at Hyde Park. As long as they had local new and travel, I don't see why anyone would complain or be annoyed, except the average listener outside of London wouldn't know who Greg Burns was?

I heard them play the full (live) version of the Official coca-cola Olympics song or whatever it is, by Katy B and Mark Ronson. Apart from in any trails/promos, they haven't played it, have they?

Capital Birmingham had a generic Capital News sting both at the top and bottom of the hour with the local journalist (Laura Safe I think) who also did travel about 5.20-5.25.

I am sure at 9pm Saturday James Barr played an extended & more upbeat version of a track?? I heard him play one just after he introduced Andi's show in 20 seconds too?

It is such a shame Mash left, Was he sacked for being over age, or did he just genuinely leave??
I thought they would have kept Sasha Networked for the urban show. There again at stupid o'clock its probably not worth it, and probably easier to do it without a DJ instead of going through the trouble of recording Sasha in advance.
Apologies if I spelt Sasha wrong.

James Barr sounded like he was in the mix, sort of, on Friday night at about 10pm. It's weird. Capital did this before with Dave Kelly where they just made Saturday night a normal playlist - if that's what the listeners want (everywhere plays dance music, so maybe it is) then so be it, but it is boring to my ears!

He's been playing extended mixes of songs ever since his remixes were axed in May.

Does anyone know what he's using to mix? CDJ's?

Acid Pro or Pro Tools I think. All computerised these days.

Also, if you are a DJ who wants to get the same job as Andi Durrant (on radio), look at his interview that he did for this website this week.
I would of thought that radio stations would nowadays hire DJs who are able to produce their own records or have a strong 'giggin' history around the big nightclubs no?

Will Cozens is on tonight, different to what the website says. Where's James Barr?

I'm sure I heard him say yesterday that he wasn't on tonight or tomorrow. Although I thought he said it would be Adam O'Neil covering.

Also, from his twitter: "I'm not doing the show tonight... It's my friends birthday weekend ! Manchesterrrrrrrrr you ready?! "

Least it's Capital.. Would be odd if it was an old Galaxy Back-up. Although that would've been better!

Error accross the whole network. Back up CD consisted of Rihanna (shocker), Katy B, Nicole Sherzinger etc whilst Capital London's had Cover Drive and more recent Big Top 40 songs.

Seriously, who uses Acid nowadays?!

Most of the Capital presenters mix using Ableton Live. For live and pre-rec stuff it is practically unbeatable.

I've heard good things about Ableton.

Next week Capital is live from Ibiza. Hurrah proper weekend programming.

A live Jessie J track will be most likely! Its not as good as Galaxy was! Capital's playlist will be likely with 'capital ball alike links!" I would be thanking them if they bring back 10 hours worth of dance music each night. Most Likely Andi Durrant will Have a live broadcast from Mambo studios. Please bring back proper shows like you "Apparently had" before! (Rap, Dance & underground stuff)

If its what we all expect it to be, let's hope it all goes 'Pete Tong' aha!

By the way. Do they even play all of their tracks equally? I've heard more Rihanna and Nicki than Porter Robinson or Madeon.

Apparently Capital was great back in the day. Bet the playlist wasn't as tacky as nowadays!

Ibiza Live was recorded live at eden in Ibiza a few weeks ago...I know, I was there! Andi Durrant was there DJing too (he was very good!). They said at the time that it would be broadcast live on Capital.

Some of the other weeks of Ibiza Live have been played out on Andi Durrant's show in the last couple of weeks already!

Confirmed by James Barr; he will be in the mix (in the style of his old Galaxy 48 hours show) Too bad there is nobody doing special stuff from after Andi Durrant's Show at 2am (special mixtapes from DJS?)

Let's hope if it does well, Global may re-think and have a couple more big room anthem shows for the weekend. which may go alongside Andi Durrant. Maybe they should have a Dance playlist (big room anthems) So that Matt or James Barr could use for their weekend shows?
