I see James Barr will be on Friday @ 8PM. I thought they moved him around?
Covering for Pandora who is on drive instead.

Oh, fair enough. I stand corrected. I thought it was one of those made-up radio names.

Talking of made-up names, how long do we think Bassam has left?

Bassman is most likely to leave next Spring. Wonder why Kat Shoob & Rich Clarke never do the mid-mornings together. If I remember correctly, they used to do a show together straight after the chartshow.

Surely he's got to be one of the oldest ones there? Sounds old

Capital Birmingham still taking the London feed with the 6am London news and first link. That was confusing to wake up too!

iirc James is in his 40s, but there's older jocks doing chr in the States for example. He sounds good still.

Went on for longer than the adverts, Rob Howard said on air that there was a power failure and that he was now in the back up studio. Things went back to normal for the 9am news.

I'm looking for the tool they use to make Capital pan from left speaker to right. It's for college work...

I dare say Logic or ProTools.

NOTE: Logic is only available on OS X.

I believe Chris Nicoll is the head of imaging and just might be the man to ask. Pro Tools for the spoken jingles and some software from Native Instruments for the sung ones...

This can easily be done on Adobe Audition/Cool Edit, go into multitrack and drag in your clip then there should be 2 lines one for volume one for pan. All you do is at the start put the pan line right to the top then at the end of the clip to the very bottom. The sound will them move from one speaker to the other when played.

But to answer your question Capital would use Pro Tools.

They only did it last year as Galaxy did it previously (and actually did work!)
However, we had Hed Kandi, Nu Cool, Mash ect. Last year was when we had Sacha Brooks and if I can remember, they forgot to switch the adverts back on,so her show went out of sync every 20 minutes.

This year you'll probably have James on from 8-12, then Andi till 6am (with a possible extended special show?)

I wonder if They'll do a Big Top 40: best of 2012 special?

Whatever it is it will be a club format. Capital UK is almost 2 years old.

For a station that wants to abolish the whole Galaxy Format. I'll find that hard to believe. First of all.. Axing both Mash & Sacha's weekend programs, despite them being on air during the graveyard hours. Replacing them with the Mixtape which is on at 4am for an hour each weekday morning; with pretty much the same kind of stuff they air during the daytime shows.

Secondly Axing James Barr's 'hair straighteners o'clock' which was a 'light' dance show.

Thirdly, Pushing Andi Durrant's program to midnight; just to cover him up and pretend his show doesn't exist. Which is a shame, considering he used to be on at 9pm less than 2 years ago!

All of the above happened within the last 12 months. Therefore I doubt they'll plan to broadcast a non-stop party THIS year. Maybe a couple of Andi Durrant specials at Midnight, and nothing else.

I would not be surprised if Adam gets a show across the whole network at times as well, possibly early Breakfast or overnight cover.

I'm really sad to be giving up on Capital. I can't rate it anymore. I'm sold on Kiss FM now as I have in car DAB.

Just can't stand the direction it's gone. It's a shame, because their jingles and presentation is spot on.

It's come to something when this Friday, Free BC was playing Michael Grey - The Weekend original, and Capital Bham hadn't played a single dance tune.
