Yeah know what you mean, its really lost its way , the jingles and production are pretty poor compared to Kiss too. It also sounds just so shrill.

Just can't stand the direction it's gone. It's a shame, because their jingles and presentation is spot on.

It's come to something when this Friday, Free BC was playing Michael Grey - The Weekend original, and Capital Bham hadn't played a single dance tune.”

100% Totally agree with you. I am disappointed that Capital have changed music direction, But one day I know they will make the schedule more interesting....

Its definitely an odd decision not to concentrate on the more poppy end of the dance spectrum on a Friday and Saturday night - especially as their main rival Kiss goes a bit more into less mainstream dance music, as does Radio One.

Capital changing their schedule again... from Monday the Capital Mixtape is at 2am, Emily Segal at 3am, later Will Cozens reverted to 11pm. So no more two hour shows on overnights.

Despite playing at the Jingle Bell Ball, I note that presumably due to Galaxy format restrictions, that Capital aren't playing One Direction's new single. That song is currently top of the singles chart yet only the BBC, Bauer and the smaller groups are playing it according to comparemyradio.com

The Galaxy format will haunt them for a while until they weasel out of it.

Is Ant Payne still on then ? He's a great jock plugs he will be gutted he doesn't get to have a chat with Steve Allen over on LBC in the morning.

Not confirmed, but Emily recently did a week as one half of the Capital Breakfast show here on the South Coast. With Zoe due to go on Maternity Leave in the next month or two, I suspect she may have been tested in the slot, and will be with us while Zoe is off air - possibly leaving Ant Payne with the early breakfast on his own.

I can't see how it can be a format restriction issue, any more than a lot of pop tracks that they play. Their research may be telling them that people over the age of 25 don't care for One Direction apart from a couple of songs. (What Makes You Beautiful and ... er ... the other one) One Direction are averaging one decent radio friendly song an album.

Or maybe they're still in the huff.

The schedule changes aren't really major.. Whoever does a slot will require to play the same song that you'll find on any other program, I don't get why they don't add any flavors or segments to them, just to add character and spice them up.

Hirsty's Daily Dose doesn't seem to be available on listen again since the end of last week. Are they on holiday?

Capital just wants to run a format of just HIT MUSIC throughout its programming. No mash ups, remixes etc etc. Do be different from Kiss.

It's stationality, surely. The idea that, when you've got a choice of hundreds of TV stations and tons of radio stations there's no way of keeping track of what's on all of them, but that if you tune into Capital you know what you're getting.

Have to say I prefer it to obscure dance stuff, but then we have a decent selection of stations in central Scotland. On a Saturday night the Bauer station goes into ultra-dance mode and Real goes into 80s party tunes, Radio 1 is specialist and Radio 2 is old, so a station playing non-stop current pop sounds ideal to me.

That's really bad that they just don't bother for (at least) 3 days. If they're going to offer the Listen Again service, surely they should do it properly.

Links to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday's shows now on their Listen Again, but no audio whatsoever. They just keep adding another day of empty links. Really poor.

Actually, If Capital axed the mix-tape and carried on with 12 Hours specialist:

James: Fri & Sat night - 8 - 11 = 6 Hours
Andi: Fri & Sat night - 11 - 2 = 6 Hours
Total = 12 Hours

I know that's been mentioned before (sorry to bring it back up), If only the capital board read some of these comments they might create something amazing!

I wouldn't classify the remixes on the Capital Mixtape as "specialist output" because they're playlisted songs that are well known in the mainstream chart. Where as stuff like Nicky Romero, Hot Natured, Tensnake & Tiesto arn't (If you get where I'm going)

I don't get why they can't make a deal with Ministry (Sponsorship?) to get their DJs to send in pre-records through the weekend overnights. Besides, Ministry have been trying for years to get their brand on FM.
