They've changed that today then...as it wasn't that yesterday. Did think it was odd - as I remember from previous balls that the specialist output didn't start at 11pm like normal.

I think Capital has big competition out there now, 2013 they must change and get a bit more interesting programming wise. It is boring now.

They'll only budge if Kiss FM goes national. It's never gonna happen

I would say they are at risk. More & more stations are going DAB out there plus that Radio 1, Kiss, Hits radio & more provide more specialist out than Capital. especially Radio 1.

So I would say that Q4 Rajar & Q1 2013 results will be interesting to see.

It will around here after the tragic last figures.

Hmmm could they axe the top 40 if the listening figures are up this Sunday for the slot? They could do a capital mega-mix on Sunday evenings with what they call good songs such as we are young

They already have 'The Mixtape'. Although a 'Throwback Anthem' type show may be more suitable for a Sunday Evening

You're not supposing they axe the chart are you? Because there no chance of that happening.

Especially not the station that originates it.

Ideally Monday 31st would be the right date to do it. I can remember Bauer scheduling their drivetime shows earlier when the last chart show special was on.”

If I remember right, just before we lost Galaxy FM, Leicester Sound, Trent FM etc, there was a show on the 1st of January called the Big Top 40 of the Year, it broadcast only on Global radio stations(so not all the stations the normal top 40 show is broadcast on), however it didn't feature on 1st of 2012, so I presume they won't broadcast it this year either. I think it didn't get enough listening figures.

As For Andi, I presume his show before Christmas will have his best of 2012, and his show before new years will be old school (thats what he did last year), however if like last year they put on more specialist music, we could see Andi on other shows during the week so his best of 2012 could be on one of those (remember last year he gave us live music on a Tuesday/Wednesday Night show from 11pm?).
Could we see Andi on New Years eve this year though? I hope so, but Capital probably wont have specialist output until midnight, as it is Capital!

The Bauer stations did pick-up the special chart show in 2011. Drivetime shows were moved back broadcasting between 1 & 4pm that day. Surly they will do it this year due to the BBC broadcasting their top 100 singles of 2012

I was surprised that Capital did that Ibiza gig this year, would be interesting if they worked with a simuler formula for New Year's Eve. But possibly at a top London Nightclub? (Ministry? -Dreaming!)

An OB would be quite ideal as this means they can bring their brand to where the target audience may be. Am I right?

What is Capital doing?

Last night Pandora was in the mix playing remixes. Is James going to do the same tonight?

Also what have they done with the Jingles? the only Jingle's I heard last night was "The Weekend Is On Capital" no vocal effects or stereo pan.

Good idea (I think this is what they are doing)

2 Hours of normal programming on Pandora's Friday night show and then for the last 2 Hours it's remixes & extended mixes. And the same for James's show on a Saturday.

Unless at some point they change it again. But then NYE is approaching and changes might happen in the New year.

So apparently there is a big announcement Friday morning on south coast breakfast, my guess is something to do with Zoe's maternity leave....

Anyone else got any ideas?

Maybe they're closing it down?

Are we looking at a new breakfast show? Heart will be getting one.

Wouldn't they just push 103.2 to Heart rather than close it down due to way the licence works?

Could we see z&g moving to heart breakfast? They're both getting towards the more mature years, and I can't imagine they are a fan of the music they play anymore. Will be interesting...

Remember Rick Jackson went from Power to Ocean so it's not unheard of.

Wonder if that would mean...

Heart Breakfast with Zoe & Gillies.
Capital Breakfast with Toni & Adam.
