Personally, I think that at lunchtime there should be 3 or 4 classic/anthem tracks mixed together. I think it would tie in well after the lunchtime news.

It would be something that would make a lunchtime a bit more interesting. But then not all people would want to hear that.

The Hits Radio and Kiss both go in the mix for a bit over drive time. 5pm on Kiss and Hitmix at six on the Hits Radio. Surpised they don't let James do something similar with like a 7 at 7 in the evening in the mix or something to vary it. maybe we'll see some changes in the new year

Yes, I've heard this many times the past week or so..."bitch" shouldn't be in a song broadcast during the daytime - should it?

Zoe and Gillies (South Coast Breakfast) used to play the uncensored version but say "witch" over "bitch".

Never stopped radio stations playing Meredith Brooks - Bitch, when that came out and was a hit, did it?

Radio stations tend to have different ideas on what's offensive and what's not. Capital tends to push things a bit further.

For example, the Capital edit of that Rita Ora songs includes: "Party and bull..." and the lyrics: "drunk sex feeling", which are edited out on Radio 1, the latter with an effect similar to someone leaning on the turntable, as Moyles put it.

I'd imagine bitch is very, very low down on the Ofcom table of offensive swear words, to the point of not resulting in any action if anyone complained.

Capital FM are in the mix, non-stop, ad free from 6pm - 1am tonight - Duncan Wallace has confirmed on his twitter.

Sounding amazing right now - massive tunes non-stop with Pandora till 10, then James Barr till 1!

Enjoy 'in the mix' fans!

Wasn't he the guy who did one of the old Galaxy FM dance show (Hed Kandi?)

Both Capital and Kiss are in the mix and I'm not sure which I prefer - but it's awesome!

Who produces the mixes for these?

On Heart FM they play "bitch" uncensored when they play Just Like a Pill by Pink.

Rolling in the Deep by Adele and Sweat by Snoop Dogg I often hear "shit" uncensored in those songs on the radio (for Snoop Dogg's song it's quite amusing, since there's much less offensive words in that song that get censored).

Back to regular playout now.

A trick was missed not having Andi Durrant IMO.

Capital sounded good tonight, I think it depends on what's in the chart how Capital sounds for the daytimes.

To be fair to Capital, they have been in the mix the last couple of weeks on Friday and Saturday nights! Sounding great too.

2nd Anniversary of the network in two days time. Plus this is Capital London's 40th year.

The London output is a shadow of its past these days. I guess the network is a financial success but it hasn't exactly added many listeners. As I go around the East Mids you don't hear it very much and no-one talks about it. Its like a Now album on constant rotate...

Still the most successful commercial station in the East Mids, well ahead of Gem

Yeah, I saw Will post this - I hope it means James gets Friday's back and he's not down to just 4 nights a week.

Pandora's doing afternoons this week. I assume that's just cover and not permanent. Ye James doing Friday's this week would be surprised if he went down to four nights. Means there willbe new presenter on capital London weekend breakfast

Leigh Jones was dire on the network.

Christian Williams doing 3-8am on Sat which seems beefier than the 3-5am he does the following day.

Ye I don't see why they wouldn't do the same on Sunday's and just let him do 3-8 over adam's show although I do think Adam is good but seems strange to have two shows at that time
