Do most people have either Iphones or Blackberries now?
Has anyone else noticed how these two makes have totally cornered the mobile phone market now? Everyone I know has one or the other, and most of the other makes (i.e Samsung) appear to be copying them and trying to make something similar. Their Samsung touch looks like a cheap Iphone, which is exactly what it is really.
I hardly used my phone before I got my Iphone at Christmas, but now I can't put it down. It's like an extra limb You can do so much with it, I actually had a big dilemma deciding whether to have an Iphone or a Blackberry. I didn't even consider having any other make. I don't think I'd even consider going back to Nokia (remember them?)

Much is true.
Teenage relations, all with iPhones find it easier to advise/persuade their parents to replace their Nokia 3410's with a cheapish Blackberry. http://crave.cnet.co.uk/mobiles/inq-...roid-50002829/ A very useful qwerty keyboard but otherwise they are very low tech fashion, Its not quite how good it looks, its what they think others think, as always in the world of fashion. |

I see a lot of iPhones, a lot of BlackBerry smartphones and an increasing number of different Android powered devices.
There were some stats recently that said 75% of new UK phone sales were smartphones, so they're certainly more popular than feature phones recently. |

When out and about, if people are on their phones etc, half the time it looks to be an iPhone or BlackBerry where i am.
I work in a shop and when customers are in there waiting for service... almost all of the ones i see play on their BlackBerry or iPhone while waiting. Smartphones are very popular nowadays and the price is going to continue to decrease so more people will get them. |

Android certainly missing from this thread title as a lot of people are on that platform.
Perhaps the question should be do most people have smartphones now? |

To answer the OP - No is the answer
For the year of 2010, Sony Ericsson and Motorola are out from the top of five list and have been replaced by LG and Apple. Nokia dominate Mobile phone sales - 30%+ share Samsung are popular globally 20%+ share LG are also popular 7.6%+ share Apple a reasonable 4% share Blackberry (RIM) a healthy 3% share Hope this helps. |

Definitely a lot of people on Android, but it's not a 'make' of phone like the iPhone or BlackBerry. People could have Sony Ericsson, HTC, Samsung, LG etc and still be on Android.

I think the choice of phones is a bit like the choice of networks, for instance on my estate it seems everyone and his Dog is on O2 and where my Daughter lives everyone seems to be on Orange - maybe its just down to the good old Sheep effect (baa baa).

An iPhone is just all these parts bundled together anyway.

On my daily commute on the Tube, it's mainly iPhones and Berry's that I see. |

A touchscreen on a Berry feels like a poor add-on rather than integrated into the device as it should be, the Torch is no different.

Android is the most popular smartphone OS now though no competitor has an overall majority.
http://www.taranfx.com/android-most-popular-smartphone @Pencil I would in no way say a smartphone is a replacement for a dedicated gaming system like the Nintendo DS, but that depends how serious you are about gaming. |

Two years ago, iPhone was the buzz amongst people around where I live. Last year all I saw were blackberries. This year it's all about HTCs and Samsungs. Mainly HTC Desire, Wildfire, Desire HD and Samsung Galaxy S.
Though it's a bit disproportionate as lots of affluent people who are willing to buy phones all the time not needing to wait for a new contract. |
