I've got a Foxsat-HDR, with latest loader and software updates running. At 1230 and 1700 each day it drops the picture output, for 1-2 secs.

Is this a known fault, or something more random?

At a guess there is something in or near your home on a timer switching ON/OFF at those times.

There's no timers on anything nearby... the only timer in the house is the central heating, and the times for that are completely different. But you've got me wondering about a surge-protected plug for it.

Do you have any local industrial activities?

Nope - nothing industrial nearby, middle of a housing estate. No other electrical devices blip at those times.

The box itself stays on, it's the output to the TV that seems to flick off and on. May try surge protected plug as a starter, to rule out anything supply related.

Maybe a stupid question but how do you know it's the box that's dropping the video and not something in the TV?

Can you try watching from a different source at that time to see if the TV acts in the same way?

Just to confirm, it's the Foxsat not the TV (doesn't seem to do it for other TV input devices).

What's odd is that it does it at exactly 1230, according to the radio controlled clock.

I wonder if the Foxsat is looking for an update or something. All very odd and annoying.

Does it do it if you are playing back a recording at those time or is it when watching live TV or of course either?

Have you go anything else apart from the HDR connected to the LNB?

I have a Freesat TV connected to the same LNB (so 3 out of 4 outputs in use) as the HDR and I find that whilst the HDR is booting I get a momentary glitch (only lasts for half a second if that) on the TV if I am watching a satellite channel.

I was thinking this may happen the other way around as well (i.e. another device switching on which shares the same LNB may momentarily cause a glitch on the HDR).

Have you got anything set in the time settings config have you ? Power on / Power Off etc.

Do you get this at say 09:00 as well as 17:00?
