Using a USB stick with a Humax HDR
I have managed to load a tv series onto a USB stick to watch via my Humax box. I have read the manual and plugged the stick into the front of the box. In file manager (video) opt+ I can see the USB on the right hand pane but it's not showing anything listed as being on there. I have checked on two pc's that the programmes are actual on the stick.
What am I doing wrong?? If you have not already guessed I am not very technically minded. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. |

You can't just add a video file to a usb stick and get a hdr to play them back. To replay the hdr needs 3 files xxxx.ts (the video) and two support files xxxx.hmt and xxxx.nts.
Thanks to a genius called Raydon who reverse engineeered the support files a free utility (AV2HDR) exists to create these. The latest version also lets you upload video by connecting your hdr to a home network, without using usb. This also avoids the 4GB file size limit associated with FAT32 usb devices. http://www.avforums.com/forums/frees...-transfer.html |

Thank you very much for that, it is much appreciated. No wonder it wouldn't work
![]() I will have a go at sorting it out tomorrow when I will have the house to myself. It looks a bit complicated but I am sure with a bit of perseverance I will be able to manage it. |

If you copy the video files to a folder on your computer and then delete from the usb drive. Simply tell AV2HDR you want to write it's output files to your usb drive. Open each video source file in turn, AV2HDR will tell you if it meets the requirements and output the three files it needs to USB. (You can call the output file anything you want and even make up your own channel names and programme info - If you want to impress your mates tell the programme it came from Um-Bongo TV )
