What was it called?
Back in the 1990s I remember there was a phone company that operated by Microwave Links instead of landlines into the Home./
The home had a small microwave dish on its wall and that was how it made and received calls. What was the compant called? what happened to it? why has the technology not still around today? |

Yes, sounds like Ionica. My Brother-in-law was interested in signing up until he found out it had a 56k data link.
Cool adverts though. Doves flying around to Thunderclap Newman's classic "Something In the Air". I've seen quite a few of the transponders still attached to roofs and chimney stacks. |

When I first read this it reminded me of a company that started in the early 90's I think they called themselves Rabbit. They had antennaes on shop walls and it was basically a home phone that could be used out and about.
They used to sell the equipment in Dixons, I nearly bought it.............luckily I didn't as it seemed to disappear overnight. |
