I watched a few episodes on youtube ,after reading about the recent rape storyline on another thread last night ,I'm quite enjoying and that not finding it that hard to follow with the subtitles .The only thing I've noticed is how dated everything looks!? It looks like there still in the 90s! Bizzare!

Yes, Colin squandered all of their money but the *real* reason they split up was that Gaynor was having an affair. Colin reminded her of this when she went around to "scold" him when his affair with Anita came out.

Is the whole Evans family (actually, not Lois. She's alright) the most annoying and hateable family in the history of PYC? I don't think any of them have anything likable about them. Izzy was the worst of the lot. They seem to have the patent on miserable and moaning in Cwmderi.

Does Colin's sister count? I like her character but her storyline with Garry was awful. As if some secret detective for the goverment (or whatever she was supposed to be; I couldn't even follow) would be in a tiny village in the middle of Wales. Then she was extremely whiney about all of that and Gwyneth finding out.
Gaynor I dislike the most on the show. But every soap opera should have a character that you just hate so I'm not saying I want her gone either.

I agree. They do nothing but whinge. I'm not a fan of Lois though, she's just a bit...I don't know...gormless for me. Gaynor is just insufferable and Izzy has no redeeming qualities.
My favourites change all the time. Currently, it's Dai and Diane (though not separately). Their chemistry just works.

I dislike Ffion the most. When I first started watching PYC it was when Ffion and Cai were having an affair behind Hwyels back. Ironically it was also the same time when I started my dislike for Izzy too. I thought she was so selfish.
I used to quite like Gaynor until she had an abortion, and then tried to persuade Lois to get one also.She thought more of a career than a baby.. And in Lois` case a secret she wanted to hide away forever.
I hate the way Gaynor is trying to rule Lois` life. She`s a control freak. I hope Hwyel wakes up to it soon. I can`t wait til Gaynor and Hwyel finds out the truth on Lois` baby. I`m sure the writers will do it the justice it deserves. They haven`t disappointed me yet.

Isn`t it funny that Emmerdale and Pobol Y Cwm are merging into each other. They had Mr Da Souza and Terry Woods appear in it briefly. Now Scott will be appearing in Emmerdale. And both soaps have farming backgrounds too.
Would love to see Eiffion appear at John and Moiras farm in Emmerdale, and then both Effion and John strip down to their boxers doing their farm work.

I think that as soon as Hywel finds out that the baby is Rhys', Gaynor and Hywel will be over. Hywel still isn't over losing Lleucu, I think he'll want the baby. There's no way he'll let Gaynor have her way when he finds out it's his grandchild and this will cause ructions.

IoIo has to have worked out what happened to Macs now surely?

I think Iolo will figure it out sooner than later. He is close right now. He knows something is seriously wrong and suspects that Scott attacked Macs. I don't think that rape has occurred to him as yet, but it will as he wonders why Macs is keeping quiet and is so disturbed by "whatever" happened with Scott.

Gaynor is so ridiculous. Hiding Lois away like she committed a crime. She is only pregnant for goodness sake.

Huw is really working my last nerve. He won't go to the interview to get a job to support this child, but still expects his father to keep quiet and pay child support. Huw is a stupid boy who isn't ready for parenthood.

I think he has but he's just waiting for Macs to say it, sort of admit it to himself. "Have you been raped?" is not the sort of thing you just come out and say to someone I guess,especially to a man.

Gaynor drove me mad tonight. She is SO controlling. She didn't even want Yvonne to know and she's family! Yvonne of all people can keep a secret! Gaynor's sacrificing her daughter's happiness and sanity for the sake of her own public image. It's so sad. Huw is so naive for thinking he and Lois can bring up this baby together without any help from Sion or Gaynor. It'll end in tears!

I'm not sure that rape has entered Iolo's mind because of the way he keeps Macs to tell him what happened. I think that Iolo would ask outright if he thought that it was rape, but we'll see next week.

He did actually say "Did Scott attack you?" which I suppose could be taken several ways. It could mean a physical assault or a sexual assault - neither of which Macs is prepared to admit to at the moment.

But I think Iolo thinks that Scott beat up Macs and that he is embarrassed about it. I don't think that rape has occurred to Iolo as yet.

I think when Iolo asked if Scott had attacked him, he meant any sort of attack. He's probably very confused about what's going on with Macs so may not even know what sort of assault to ask Macs about. Sexual assault is probably something he's considering more by now with how Macs is behaving.

Yeh I did wonder how Macs would have interpreted that, but I suppose if he admits something happened, he would have to admit everything, which is not something he feels he can do at the moment

Maybe not yet but with the way Macs is acting it won't be long before Iolo works it out. His obvious mental anguish is clearly more than just embarrassment. I think this is why Iolo won't give up on the questioning. I feel so sad for Macs and I didn't even like him before this

I think the more that Macs denies that Scott attacks him, the more Iolo will wonder about what really happened. Sure it would be embarrassing if Scott beat up Macs, but why would Macs be acting so strangely and so secretively about it to his brother of all people and then the possibility of rape will enter Iolo's mind. I think once Iolo asks Macs directly if he was raped, Macs will start to crumble and will tell Iolo what happened.

I didn't like him much before the assault either. What's quite annoying is that I started to get over my long lasting annoyance at him and started to like him just before the assault, making the scenes even harder to watch and more heartbreaking. Though they'd be completely heart breaking and disturbing no matter who was assaulted in that way.

I hope that we see Macs getting help. Even if he doesn't go to the police, he needs to see a therapist to get help. He also needs to meet other male rape survivors so he knows that he is not alone. He is not the first or only man that has been raped and that doesn't say anything about his masculinity.

The writers are usually quite good about following through with things like this. There was a post-natal depression story a couple of years ago and they showed that character getting help etc. I think they even won an award for that story.
