EE: The Yusef Khan Appreciation Thread
I'm starting to really like Yusef Khan now. Whatever Zainab says, he comes across as a decent chap and seems like a good doctor as well. We know he tried to save Zainab in the fire (though Zainab conveniently forgot to tell Masood this) because of the burn marks on his shoulder - it wasn't his fault Masood got there first. He genuinely loves his daughter. He disowned his family when they did what he did. He seems to genuinely care about other people's welfare.
He was willing to make amends with Zainab even before Tamwar and Afia announced they were still together (having suspected when Tam first mentioned Zainab's name that it was the same Zainab that he was married to.) While I don't blame Zainab for being uncomfortable with him around after what his family tried to do to her, I think they should all put things behind them for Tamwar and Afia's sakes and move on. Hmm - any potential for a Denise/Yusef pairing? I think they would make a really good couple. |

I love Yusef, definitely the best new character to come out of BK's reign so far! He's really intriguing and I love how ambiguous he is - he comes across as really nice and charming but definitely has a more sinister and creepy edge to him too.
Really looking forward to seeing how his character develops! |

I was worried at first but damn he is great as a character he actually works brilliantly as both the local GP and this sinister man with a complex past with Zainab.

There's something rather enigmatic about Yusef. He intrigues me.
He's a good addition, and I like that his profession has quickly enabled him to interact with other characters so that he doesn't feel like an outsider to viewers. |

I like him too, but I hope if he gets together with Denise he won't have any dark secrets. Poor Denise deserves a nice guy.

He just oozes natural charm - love him! I also detect a bit of chemistry between him and Zainab, which she is struggling with because she is so programmed to hate him. I definitely think she will soften towards him though.

yeah I think he has the makings of a great villian - my worry is they will go in the wrong direction and do a Denise/Zaianb/Yusef love triangle coming up.
I want villians to be evil not just having an affair. |

I think his character has loads of potential, I'm just desperately hoping that he's not just another excuse to give the Masoods more screen time. I hope the focus moves away from them and Yusef ends up having his own independent storylines. but I very much doubt this will ever happen.

I want new characters to have their own storylines too. Look at Vanessa as an example. A total waste of Zoe Lucker for a year now. |

Don't think Denise (even living in Eastenders !) is going to be too quick to trust any guy anyway, especially when she has been properly updated by Zainab about the past |

Why hasn't Zainab told her family or anyone else that it wasn't Yusef that set fire to her and that he in fact saved her from it?

I must be the only one who is not seeing Yusef as sinister. I feel like we're supposed to be wary of him and yet I think he's misunderstood - particularly by Zainab. But it could be a double bluff!
