Yup, like him lots, probably my favourite so far. Voice reminds me a bit of Ray LaMontagne. Always like a voice with loads of character and a hook in it.

I commented on another thread that I didn't remember him so had to google & youtube. Loved his voice and definitely on my one watch list now.

Yes I can see where you're coming from with Ray LaMontagne but for me he reminds me of Gavin Degraw.

Bit of Paulo Nuttini in there as well I think.

Was talking about him on twitter tonight and that's exactly who I compared him to!... Definitely up there with Casey Abrams in my favourites!

VoteForTheWorst are voting for him, so they might get him quite far ... Personally I don't rate him, think he's a little boring.

Much prefer Robbie Rosen~ :3

I feel he knows how good he is is and that irritates me a little.

Have to admit that I like pretty much like everyone but Paul I am just not getting, I find him rather dull.
Never been a fan of the 'needing to clear my throat' voices.

Does anyone know when the band 'The Grand Magnolias' got together?

Everything I seem to find on them claims to be a very new band, as in the last quarter of 2010. Were the first auditions for AI in January 2011? When did they apply, 2010? Seems he got his band together then went on AI just to promote the band or was possibly even invited to promote the band?

Just to add, I do really like him, not my favourite at the moment although that is likely to change between about 6 of them (including Paul).

I'm not overkeen on his voice but for some strange reason he's one of the few I like this year (along with Scotty and Jacob).

He sounds like Ray LaMontagne and (I can't believe I'm going to say this cos I like Paul) James Blunt's () love child!

This goes for me too. I like Paul's quirkiness and liked his performance this week but throaty voices are my biggest turn off.

I'm a bit undecided on him, do like his voice, but whether I could listen to an album of it is another matter

Unless this was a joke and I missed it, I don't recall them picking someone yet, and I don't think it would be Paul anyway.

They've been together for 5 years, and have been touring during 2010. They were originally called Hightide Blues.

This article, in which he was interviewed briefly during the Top 13 party, touches upon the touring part:

Here's a little tourage video from last year.

He's a definate pick for the future (presuming he survives a few weeks), with the failures of Kris to sell much and Lee to sell anything album wise (although I think Kris may have topped 300K now), they're going for WGWG to win, presuming Paul will continue the trend.

I'm sure they'd even pick him out just for his bedazzled suit alone
