'Only' 350,000 apps? That seems like quite a few to me. and Apple are stricter than Android about duplicates!

Very good point, I'd forgotten about app investment. I wonder how much the average user has spent on apps for their phone (e.g. more than the average monthly bill?).

Nonsense. Apple very much care about market share, and at the moment they are not just at the niche end of the smartphone market, they have two of the most popular handset
models.
Apple are greedy, but also very clever. I think they are busy plotting to see what they can do to make sure they hold on to their position.
3 stunned the industry, 3G changed it for ever, 3GS had no competitors. For now i4 has no
close competitors, just feasible alternatives.
Apple can see where this is going, and they will try to head it off. The fate of Nokia makes it clear that it is not safe to rely on brand loyalty alone (although Apple inspires incredible brand loyalty).
