Explain to me how it's not as powerful as a Desire HD? Both have the exact same processor (Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon), exact same GPU (Adreno 205) and the exact same amount of RAM. They have the same resolution, so will perform identically on any benchmark you care to perform. I think you got confused somewhere, because there is literally zero performance difference between the Desire HD and Desire S (and the Incredible S for that matter). Also, as the Desire S has the smallest screen of the trio, it also has the highest pixel density, which makes everything look sharper and just, well, better.

I know that Desire HD can be upgraded to 2.3, but the point is that it's still an extra step that some people might not know to take, and that you don't need to take on the Desire S. Which makes the Desire S preferable to some.

Oh, and battery life is better because - wait for it - the battery is bigger (1450mAh vs 1230mAh).

One other thing I forgot to mention before - the Desire S uses better screen tech than the Desire HD (S-LCD vs LCD). That again is a win for a lot of people.

Again your trying to compare apples with oranges the valid comparison is Desire with Desire S. Its like trying to say all snapdragon phones are the same - clearly the sum is greater than the parts, in most cases at least

Ok, lets look at what you're suggesting the Desire HD has over the Desire S. According to the HTC website (http://www.htc.com/uk/product/desires/overview.html) the Desire S has a max upload speed of 5.76Mbit/s, which means it's a category 6 HSUPA device. So that's that one out.

Also on the HTC site, they say this: "HTC Desire S allows you to wirelessly stream them straight to your TV via a DLNA connection". So again, you're wrong.

HTC Fastboot is part of HTC Sense v3.0, as announced on 15/09/10, which all new HTC Android phones have. So the Desire S has it.

The Desire HD does indeed have a pixel density of 217PPI. However, common sense tells us that a smaller screen with the same resolution MUST have a higher PPI, which the Desire S does with 252PPI. So I don't know what you're shouting about there.

I don't know why you're so adamant that the Desire HD is better than the Desire S, when it really doesn't matter. I do believe, however, that I have shown time and time again that inside they ARE THE SAME PHONE, so I think you should probably drop it.

The Desire HD uses a S-LCD screen.

Lol - If you choose to think that even though spec for spec they are not the same - more fool you. You make assumptions and try to paint them as fact. The phone clearly doesnt match the spec you paint even going by HTC specs hence the reason they use different wording, it a very old advertising trick
