Lots of foods or methods/techniques/processes have different names around the world.
They could be very similar and evolved from the same words.

I guess you're not playing it A to Z then

All purpose = Plain
Bier = Beer
Crepe = Pancake

I'll stick in a D & E
Demerara sugar = Turbinado sugar
Evaporated milk = Dehydrated milk

French Fries = Chips

* Also, you could add items that you would substitute for other items when cooking

Turnips and swedes are two different veg - one being small and white, one being larger and brown / yellow. There's an interesting discussion about them here.

Isn't a marrow just one type of squash? The big green cucumber shaped ones? Like large courgettes. Squash on the other hand could be different colours and shapes and include things like butternut squash. That's my understanding.

As for P ... how about pakora = tempura ... or near enough, I reckon!

Ooo was pipped at the post for P ... and can't think of a Q so will leave it as was...
