International Week
Patti-Ann
24-02-2011
Apparently this Sunday will have an international theme

What kind of routines can we expect:

The inevitable Latino no doubt - we get it every year

Another Bollywood number

A 'Western' like Mikey's 'Ring Of Fire'

Can't think of any more

This is going to look really cheesy

Denise will probably get something like Ye Viva Espana

Mambo Italiano for someone - if that is chosen it will be someone who had a slow routine the previous week - so could go to Laura or Johnson maybe

Yes I can just see Jeff doing that - or Down Under by Men at Work
Vanilla Ice will get thr country and western - maybe Kenny and Dolly Islands in the stream

Edit to previous post - if there is latin music, expect Gloria Estefan's back catalogue to be raided

Jeff said on This Morning that he's performing a Viennese Waltz.

Hayley said on This Morning that they are all doing a dance style from around the world. Denise has said she is off to a Samba class today so I guess that's hers.

Matt's now tweeted they are off to a Salsa club later. Let's hope Denise dances to the right style on Sunday LOL.

At last he'll be out of the black costumes and into something else - think red will suit him

So that means

Jeff - Viennese Waltz
Denise - Salsa
Vanilla Ice - Flamenco

Which leaves

Johnson
Laura
Chloe
Sam

And other styles maybe could be

Argentine Tango................Laura maybe
Rumba.............................Chloe maybe - she is due a slow one
Charleston/Jive................Johnson (due a fast routine)
Paso Doble......................Sam - strong male lead in it

What, no Irish jigs, Aboriginal campfire dances or Japanese geisha-style moves? If we're going to get insultingly stereotypical, let's do it properly

Apparently someone is doing River Dance. According to the Ray Quinn backs VI strand on here Chloe is apparently doing a fun routine and According to the thread Denise has the fastest routine this week

So it is

Jeff - Viennese Waltz
Denise - Salsa
Vanilla Ice - Flamenco
Chloe - Riverdance (maybe)

That leaves
Johnson, Laura and Sam to be revealed

Someone must have a paso doble, maybe an Argentine Tango - and I would bet there will be a rumba. Not likely to be a jive or charleston as both are traditionally quicker than the salsa

So Chloe is doing some Belly Dancing then - I wonder if her music is Kiss Kiss

Laura's music better not be Fat Sam's Grand Slam. The Hollins owns that song now

I have to say I am properly chuffed that they have been given "proper" dances to do, a bit like in full competition. I think it will challenge everyone whether they need to work on technique or presentation (or both!)

I've seen Riverdance done on ice, think it was a Canadian couple who did it in World Championship a few years ago, it looks really good when well done and shows off ability to do lots of steps and to control blades and toe pick.

Victor Kraatz & Shae Lynn Bourne were the Canadian couple who did Riverdance at the 98 Olympics. Watched it for the first time in a while last night - I remember really enjoying it at the time. Link below:-

Cheers TR once again you come up trumps with info. Remember those two now in a number of routines, clever how they always managed to weave in the hydroblading!
